The new NSX smacks of dirty, dirty daily driver to me :whistling:

That'll be a sad day if it ever happens.

I'm sure they have a scalpel up their sleeve, Omar.

To get this back up to speed, who do you think will actually prevail?

All this marque loyalty has got me wondering.

Honestly, i cant say exactly - I think its going to be a massive fight, but something tells me Honda will spring a big surprise and Toyota maybe an even bigger one.

Remember people, Nissan landed the first blow and they better hope they haven't given Toyota and Honda enough time to measure and plan the counter blows.

That looks Pah - Horn...i wonder if the plates are a veiled dig at Porsche.

What is it with the 911 anyway>> Its like the guy you just have to pick a fight with because you've heard he's the toughest on the block and you gotta beat him because you think you're tougher...

You know that Honda has been taking anabolic steroids.

I'll be mildly surprised if it ends up looking like that... beefy coupes en route.

stock for stock

the nsx has always been better than the gtr.

dont believe me go into youtube and search for best motoring;

once you start modding cars that is a different story

edit:

R34 GTR V's NSX-R 1/4 mile

This is the NSX-R...As far as I am aware their was only a small amount of these made.. What did the regular NSX run if anybody knows...? NSX-R is 120 kg lighter.... Thinner windscreen, lower gearing and unofficially more power too

if this is anything like the last decade, Toyota will bring out their big gun and same goes with Honda, but afterward, Toyota will just fizz out. It will then be a war between Honda and Nissan. But in the end, Nissan will bring out its final nuke, killing all opposition and become the king.

Thats just my fan boy side talking. This time around, I think Honda will be a lot more formidable without the power restriction and their AWD sustem. I see the Lexus languishing behind while the ZR1 probably won't get anywhere from now until the finish line. Porsche will introduce maybe two more models to attack the speed time. One the mass production version which may or maynot beat the 7:29 and one stripped out to the extreme, boosted up and stiffened version just to have the bragging rights.

OFE - 911

Acronyms anyone?

No need It's a photo chop of a 997...fools forgot to do the plates :(

Reeks of porsche to me anyway :D

Good to see another contender has stepped up for Round 4...Ding ding ding.

Should be EFE-911

"Engineered for eating 911", as it is "others f'n envy 911"

Originated for Eating 911

Most normal NSX's ran in the low to mid 13's range.. still very impressive :D

the NSXR would be sorta like an N1.. in the sense that it is lightened but not entirely stripped like the N1...

it still has a/c and a stereo but with uprated suspension, engine mods and so forth

I think it's both fair and obvious to say that Nissan should get some points for originally throwing down such a gauntlet, making Toyota and Honda stand to attention and have a benchmark to beat.

They were first out of the gate, and any time limit between when the R35 set the lap record, up until it was beaten by one of these manufacturers, will be hanging over their head for all time...

I do think Honda will go well in this one, I have always loved the NSXs... I remember seeing one when I was younger and nearly creamed my pre-pubescant self somehow! :D

The LFA, I dunno that much about it, but Toyota don't seem to be as head strong and competative as the others... But hopefully they will give it a big go :)

In the end, Nissan wants to beat Porsche, Honda wants to beat Nissan, and Toyota just want to win... It's quite an exciting time :D

Not with ridiculous crude oil prices, and the fact it's quickly running out.

Oh, and the climate change crisis means we'll be binning the internal conbustion engine quicksmart for an army of energiser bunnies with wheels.

Nissan will need to step up to the environmental plate too. The R36 could be a blend of old and new - a powerful straight-6 that's greeeeeen. They might call it:

RB26DETT.

Remote Battery 2.6L Doesn't Endanger Teh Trees.

Omar - Theres more than heaps of oil still on this earth - that much has been proven so lets not jump on the "global crisis" bandwagon just yet.

To get the topic back on track, is it just me or is the LFA coming out of left field. Theres hardly any talk about it compared to the other 2 and Toyota havent gone nuclear with their threats to smack Nissan off the mantle...

Not yet, anyway.

you fail the n1 did not have 420hp from stock

No, I'm afraid that you are the one who's failed. Wheels magazine tested a R34 N1 against a Holden Monaro a few years ago and it made more power on the dyno than it does on paper. The GTR's quarter mile was as fast as a 966 turbo - 12.6sec, and weighs about the same. So together with the power it made on the dyno at the wheels, they worked out that it had around 420hp - the same as the 996 turbo.

The S2000 is still in production.

Okay so my mistake. But it is still a POS!!

The Ztune R34 is NOT STOCK. Its a heavily modified factory special. "Stock" is a car that was built to original factory specs on the original platform and like Michael said, stock for stock the NSX has the GTR covered.

If it qualifies as a production model - even though only 20 of them are made, then IT IS STOCK. Stock is what comes out of the factory. Stock cars have warranty. The Z-tune has warranty. Once you modified a car out of factory specs, then it aint stock anymore and you don't have warranty anymore also.

By your logic, then the NSX-R, the Porsche GT3 RS, the Lambo Supperleggera, Ferrari Scuderia, R35 V-spec etc... are not stock as well because they were modified at the factory?

Remember that the initial poster compared the stock R34 GTR to the NSX-R. By your logic, the two cannot be compared because the NSX-R is not stock.
