hey there all,

can anyone help with some advice my way please, rb26,have had installed garrett 2860-5, nismo pump, injectors, hkjs twinplate,FMIC, BOV,rail, custom piping etc making around 380awkw, as much as i trust my mechanic the original cost has gone from $8k-$20k, this includes the new d jetro, because the RB25 AFMS couldnt keep up, does this sound right?

any advice would be sweet, as this is gone well over my budget

why did you approve the work if its well over your budget?

did he supply and fit all parts (new or used)?

did the engine include any work done to it? or just fit parts and tune?

i know someone who has spent $10K on more sub band-name parts than you for 355rwkw

there is nothing more capable of emptying your wallet than a fully built GT-R...

hey there, yeah all parts brand new, except BOV (original one leaking), no engine work, well i guess once you start with turbos,injectors and pump installed, then things keep needing modifying, or upgrading, i dont think stopping half way through, and having a car not going was any use, i thought the bill was going to be about $13k, but obviously not!

Mate, there's over $10k in parts that you have just listed

Dunno about the labour side of things but 100 hours labour seems excessive

$4,500 labour been on dyno 3 times (BOV failed, then AFMs failed)

Turbos, $2600 (+install, another $1000)

Clutch $1300

Pump $300

Injectors $800

FMIC + piping $1200 - 1500 (depending on brand, i assume reasonably high end)

ECU - D-jet is what, 1800?

Tune - $1000

10.5k or so in parts/tune etc

Add another $1500 for misc shit like gaskets, stuffed BOV replacement. And maybe another 1000 for the labour on the rest?

12-13k tops it should be.

For 20k... you'd want a bottom end with forgies and new bearings/rod bolts and so on in there... 20k is a ridiculous price

I'd be asking what the other 7 large is for, because i couldnt see it there even using the most ridiculous pricing

Are the Turbo's gold plated? ..

Seriously though mate, i have just asked the guys on the forum how much things should cost me before i bite the bullet. i was afraid of this sort of thing happening... Good luck, whatever the outcome, hope your getting good value for money...
