1.) all the people that have replied in here with a horsepower figure = WANKERS!.

2.) it's just a car. if she can drive manual, she can drive your precious sub $20K car.

I know a certain female.. lets call her MOONPIE that would outsteer most of the forums knobjockies.

if they are licenced to drive, they can drive your skyline. stock or 400kw.

I'm sure they understand what the right pedal is for and how adjustments are made to it.

Am I the only one here who doesn't have a gf at all? :D

I don't mind (mostly) my mum driving my car if that means anything...

Were you just coming out of the closet in that post?

Correct, it is just a car, but dont, not even for one minute, assume that just because one has a licence they know how to make suitable adjustments to the said right pedal.

Yes, she's been allowed to drive when I've become "accidently drunk" while on a social visits.

However it has put her off as she discovered that it doesn't take much to break traction in the wet....but going from a FWD Mirage to RWD turbo is a big leap and I'm sure she could learn to enjoy the sensation :D

i bought my R32 GT-R....FOR the wife. so she could have something to come out and play with that would keep up to my 240. she actually drives it pretty well, especially with us being in north america, and her having never driven a RHD vehicle before.

heyhey we're in the same boat on that one. lol.

Missus has driven my car a few times now. Scared that she'll crash it. Not that she'll do anything wrong, just really doesnt want to be the driver is anything goes wrong with what i've put so much time and effort, sweat and tears into.

Eased into it though.

Comming back from SA i had a kip while she drove for a stint. Woke up to her promptly saying "Ya know, your car handles better at 130 than it does at 80?" Gave me a little shock and smile at the same time :(

She pulled a dirty one on me the other day, i got hit in the head at hockey n needed stitches, so she drove me to the GP and then home. My mum n her went out to get my car from the ground.

Mum came in and said "you know how accidents happen in three's..." My heart just sank! I started the 20 q's establishing it was my car n was told "you better just come look"

Walked out the front as my gf was just walking in from the street, she couldnt hold her smile. It was dark so i couldnt see my car but knew i'd just been jibbed! Bloody hell that was a REALLY BAD FEELING! That could be another topic though. "Who's tried to fool you in saying they stacked your car when they hadnt"

My wife (well ex-wife now) drove my LH Torana around and also drives the line around. I've got no issues throwing her the keys to either car whenever she wants to go for a spin. Since driving these cars she has taken some defensive driving courses and skidpan days.

Shes not afraid to drive the car(s) to its limits in the right envirionments. I remember all the fun she used to have back in the day of the midnight runs in the torana blowing away people on the street for them to find it was a chick driver.. its amazing peoples attitudes when a chick is driving a tough car.

so all in all don't under-estimate your chicks, let them have a drive.

Mayuri Krab - shit dude, id never let my mum drive my car! Terrible driver!

Not mine, I have a much higher chance of getting into a accident (well I already did, even though its the other guy's fault, it still count as a accident :miner: ), compared to her. Since 1st getting her licence transfered from Chinese to AU (when it was still allowed), she never had a single 1/2 major accident (although she did have a bunch of break downs due to the sh*t VN that never got serviced & got towed back by RAC ALOT). She did have a bunch of minor ones like scrapping the wheel onto the kerb when parking etc...

She only drove my car a couple of times & she hated it, mainly due to the loud exhaust sound (the current camry she drives in comparision is pretty close to silent) & she says the driver area is too crammed compared to her old cars (the VN & Camry).

She didn't however say anything about the power difference, probably mainly due to her granny driving style & taking ages to even get to 40km/h from the lights.

She probably still take ages to get to 40 even if I let her drive a Bugatti Veyron or SSC Aero.

Someone came up to my wife the other day & asked if she was on the show, "World's Worst Drivers".

Of course she said it was a case of mistaken identity; but the trouble is, I didn't deny it !!

I know a lot of women out there are great drivers; but in our family, she has her car & I have mine :)

Top Gear Magazine reports that 85% of males (who drive) feel uncomfortable when being driven by their partner according to a news report to-day in the Daily Telegraph. Sample size >300 reported that they can feel so uncomfortable as to 'hold on' to anything close whilst their partner is driving.

Yep. My wife would agree to that !!!

Depends on how long you've known the girl, but I'd trust a girl driving an unfamiliar car more than a bloke. At least they don't normally get in a new car and think they're gonna suddenly possess the skills of Michael Schumacher...

1) My wife can steer

2) She prefers manual to auto

3) She drives every car I own, even if it's just around the block satisfy her curiosity

Having said that, I don't like being a passenger with anyone, my wife included. I prefer being in control of my own destiny...

With my mrs, the first time i let her drive my car, she came into a servo waay too fast and bottomed out the car and hit the front bar pretty good. This was after i had told her to slow down as she was coming in or she would bottom out.

After a while my confidence in her came back and i decided to let her drive my car again. She did well and she drove it a few times until one day she came into my work and told me she cracked my front bar while trying to park. She is now my ex mrs (but for other reasons). hahahah

my ex miss is one of the best drivers that i know.

she is actually better then all of my mates

first time she drove my car the gear changes happened at 2500rpm...

a few weeks later she was happily hitting the limiter and trying to get sideways

she was so impressed with the power that she bought her own 33 and has done a bit

i still see her everyday so its all good....i still let her drive my car and vice versa

I actually Gave my ex my r32 GTR to drive around for a few days with a twin plate Clutch so i was very impressed with that because even my leg gets sore after a few hours of driving it but after i found out she was showing her mates my car while i was at work i took the keys back :(

But the only reason i let her drive it was because she had a GTI-R before that and then she brought a VL turbo and now drives a Evolution III so yea as u can imagine shes not that bad of a driver and i think some people will agree with me there is something sexy about a girl who drives a jap car and loves speed at least you can take her out to cruises etc and she wont complain if you get tired u can even let her drive !! :P

i taught my mrs how to drive manual in my 33, the only concern for me was her stalling it, but she only did once so it was ok..I mean if ur mrs is a sensible driver i'd be more confident letting her drive then giving the keys to one of my mates which i know will just f*ckin floor it until something goes kabang!!

I'd happily hand over the keys to my girl, but she's only on her L's and she refuses to drive my cars as she knows how much they mean to me and doesnt want to bend them (her words). So I gave her the Celica, and said "It's yours now, no excuses".
