guys i think you should note that it is most probably an "IMPUL N1" not the NISSAN limited edition N1 where only 228 rolled off the nissan floor. 32impul, i have no doubts that yours is the impul spec n1 but the rest of the general public (including me) wouldnt know anything about these special edition cars put together by another tuning house. i think you should say that your parts are "impul n1 turbos" etc to save any confusion between your car and the nissan factory N1 we all know about. ive seen some pics of your car and it is very different from the nissan n1. please tell us more about it! it looks very tidy!

The IMPUL N1 does not come with air-con, ABS originally, It doesn't have whole for rear speaker and rear rain ripper. The bumper for front, side and rear is original plastic item. Gearbox is pull type.

If I remember correctly, A/R 42, M24 is the markings on stock GTR turbos.

That's what those turbos have stamped on them.

update: Here's an old thread you might want to read.

http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/sh...&threadid=11066

These are standard turbos and they're exactly the same as yours:

Merli - The ones in that link actually have much larger compressor wheels than R32Impul's

There's more to turbo's than the A/R ratios it also has a lot to do with the wheel diameter.

I will measure the wheel size when I get to work tomorrow.

Does anyone know the standard compressor wheel size of GTR or N1 turbos?

Yes, you are correct that there is more to turbos than just A/R Ratios :)

but no, I did notice that the turbos from the old thread had larger compressor wheels. Well spotted. It is of no consequence anyway, NISMO N1 turbos have the following markings on the compressor housing:

Compressor Housing: A/R .60 M24

Exhaust Housing: .64 696-2 T695

I'm 99% sure of the info above, but as always, I might be wrong... If I am, than I apologise, but I just don't want someone to purchase "N1 turbos" and then find out they're just stock turbos.

If you think I'm wrong, please feel free to provide evidence in the contrary.

The Turbo's have the same housings as stock turbos but the wheels look slightly larger, hard to tell without verniers. They are in excellent condition and have only done a genuine 37000 km... see the car and you'll no for sure they're genuine.

Impul 32 is definately 50 rwkw more powerfull than another 32 with same boost that was dynoed on the same dyno on the same day. The ECU has been opened and it is standard. Therefore we believed that this power could only come from the turbos.

Doc.

Sh!t I never new that was a geniune Impul gtr. I spoke to him once, and he told me it was a vspec 2, but it didn't have brembros, it had factory nissan calipers sprayed in red. and I'm pretty sure it had air con as well. I did notice the Impul raear bar and the impul instrument cluster. Also the rear GTR badge was mounted on the left side (instead of on the right) which I thought was weird.

Hope we are talking about the car White R32 with the plates IMPUL, stock wheels

hi man, that time I also didn't notice my car is a N1. the reason that the Brembros not in the car is my perious owner (JSV-Alan) he think that the 16" wheel has better handling on the track and looks better than the 17", so he took away the brembros and replace with the nissan item.

Impul is currently under stage 2 mod in BMT, the reborn impul will be build base no the track racing spec. I am quite sick of drag!! and I feel just a bit of waste to turn the N1 impul to drag car.....!!

don't you think?

    • UPDATE: Hi all!  As we are getting towards the end of this thread where I’ll showcase final dyno numbers and graph, I wanted to provide an update. Tao from HyperGear has done an amazing job building the custom divided T3 housing for the G30. Communication was flawless, price was great, and now the housing is estimated to arrive in 7-10 days! Very very pleased. I must add, if someone is looking for an affordable turbo and end up reading this thread, I would recommend HyperGear. Genuine brands are the way to go as their proven reliability, predictable performance, and there’s a plethora of information available for specs, flow, and more. This HyperGear recommendation is based on their excellent communication, dedication, and willingness to listen to their customers. I particularly liked their ability to create custom adaptations tailored to specific needs, which is a HUGE benefit over other brands. And if we consider the HyperGear provided dyno results, it adds reassurance knowing their turbos can compete against genuine brands. Next update will be after the dyno!
    • I've previously seen people post up "dress up bolt kits" for RBs but don't remember seeing them specify the full contents. I can only really suggest you grab the verniers and start measuring, and keep in mind the cam cover and timing cover bolts are both quite specific with a wider unthreaded section where the bushes sit, that will make it hard to get aftermarket replacements which tend to be all thread (set screws) or for longer bolts a flat section with a shorter threaded section at the end
    • I believe there was a similar one posted by @duggyphresh. They were re-routing their battery positive cable in the way I am also trying to achieve. Sorry, I’m new to this forum, so was a bit late to the party by a few months and so reignited the old thread, as I wanted to know how they got on with doing it.
