Brake Dust On Rims

HI,

i have some deposits of brake dust in the corners of each spoke on the front rims which i cant remove with any cleaner-including the expensive acid based mothers wheel cleaner.

Is it ok to be using some brillo pads or similar?They are just standard oem's nothing special.

Plan B: Kenco Heavy Duty Engine Cleaner or other SAU Post suggestions to follow...

Plan C: Subaru Carbie Cleaner

Afterwards, the wheels whilst all cleaned up, will need to be waxed &/or sealed with a coating to prevent having to do the same thing all over again !

Have you tried claying your wheels? The detailing clay is great for taking off quite a few things. It is good to use on the external surfaces of your windows too.

Once you've used the clay on your wheels don't use it on your paint work though. Keep it for use on your wheels or windows only.

a few months ago i waxed my wheels, so the brake dust + any deposits would just wash away!

nice one Terry.where will i find the kenco stuff-auto one or supercheap?

I will use some wax next time!

i have heard some people use vasaline-i can see how annoying it would be to put on,i guess just applying wax with a towel is the best way?
