Removing Interior Rear Handles/straps

I can't work out how to remove the rear interior handles/straps above the rear quarter windows.

Can someone tell me how to get access to the bolts for these?

arent there clipss on the handles themselves that you pop out to acess the screws? are they more seat belts or handle handles? a pic might help.

or a reply from someone thats done it...ha.

These are what the manual calls "Assist Handles" and are located on the roof lining above the rear quarter windows. They are also known as "F*ck Bars" 'cause thats what the back seat passengers cry when they need to grab them in a hurry.

Anyway, can't work out how to access the screws or bolts as the trim at the base seems well secured.

Never taken em off. I would have thought that plastic base bit pops off, or slides in one direction, similar to the seat belt mounts.

The plastic covers at each end of the handle pop off.

With a small flat blade screw driver, gently pull the cover off. From memory, there is a small slot where you can slip the screw driver in. Once the covers are off (at each end) you just unfasten the bolts/screws

The screws for the panic handle were damn hard to remove. Why can't Nissan use bolts instead. I tried to remove the front passanger one when i was replacing my defective sunroof motor. Couldn't remove the screws so i left them be. I got the sunroof motor out another way though.
