Iridium and platinum last longer, thats about it. For normal every day types of cars they are perfect because you never have to worry bout them and just keep them in there forever. In a modified car which usually fouls up plugs quicker than a standard car would, putting in coppers every 5000-10000km is the most ideal thing for performance and it works out a lot cheaper.

Start at a BKR7E at its standard 0.8 gap and see how it goes, if it breaks down gap it down a bit. If you still have dramas with this try going a higher heat range but i think your main concern is going to be the ignition system, maybe look into a HKS twin spark system if you have spark break down issues.

grab a set of both 8's and 9's. Tune and run car on 8's, pull them out and have a look how they are running and how the engine is running and if you need to go colder then try the 9's. I wouldnt think you would need to goto 10's though.
