Hi devildougie,

I've done some research into bonnets like that back when I had my old r33 gtst. They look pretty nice and a good site to start looking for them at is unique autosport.

http://www.uniqueautosports.com/

Now, the only problem is that cutting a big hole into the bonnet is highly illegal as it takes away a lot of the bonnet's strength when you cut through it's bracing. The first cop to pull you over will issue you with a defect notice, however, you may have a better chance if you got a mechanic to weld in additional bracing to make up for that what you have cut out.

Alternatively, you can get one of the carbon fiber ones which are also highly illegal due to how they bust into "shards" of fiber glass on impact. They're purely for track work and even then the track official may have his doubts about the safety of your CF bonnet.

Just a couple points to consider mate. Don't worry, I spoiled my fun too when I was hunting for a nice vented bonnet (i now understand why you don't see them at all on the street anymore)

...hope the site has was you're after ;-)

Tom
