Doesn't surprise me that at some point the advertising of how much 'power' Holden's make (theoretically or actually!) would have sunk in at some level to the soft, mushy, malleable minds of the average citizen, in so much as the same masses think Camry's are good cars because Toyota make them. Difference being between a Camry owner and a Commodore owner is that one deprives some form of sick pleasure in maintaining the potential for their vehicle being able to drag 2.5kids, spouse and 35ft caravan or boat for hundreds of kilometres, choking up the right lane of some highway for hours on end.

(If there is a hell, I'm sure that this is probably mine)

The vast majority of Holden owners aren't a problem and never given me any more grief than anyone else, but they have sold an awful lot of Commo's over the years I've owned a couple myself, admittedly I'd never own them again because they're mostly fucking awful!

And naturally, even a small percentage from a large amount of people translates into a huge amount of wankers.

i guess that different manufacturers are popular for different suburbs. Blacktown area its definately wankers in POS commodores. You know the type, usually wearing the HRT Cap, HRT Polo shirt with the collar up ( WTF is it with that ? ) And I am guessing matching HRT G string as well... Of course gotta have the HRT sticker on the window, Anyhow wanker Commo driver is at the lights in his full retard outfit ( see above ) As I was coasting toward the lights I could see they were changing so rather than stop I coasted to the lights and flew through as they went green... Well Wanka Commo driver in his 6 litre 285 kw HSV must have got really pissed by this. Because he must have wheelspun the whole intersection,Shifted at rev limit, Chirped 2nd hard just so he could beat me.... Like i was really trying to race him...FFS I could get out and run faster than that pulsar

lol i used to be a commo driver and believe me it is the people not the car.. i had the bogan wanks trying to stir me up all the time.. its cause the POS cheap commos are just wasters to them.. all this hype they carry on about beleiving their cars are the most superior.. they are losers with small penises that need to comensate

I have to agree with the Commodore thing haha. I would have thought it would be more like 70% of hoons are commodore drivers. I rarely see an import hooning and when I do they probably previously owned a commodore and their car has bad offset, bad wheels and is not a nice car at all :)

haha matching HRT g-string, f*kn hilarious. to top of the cheezy gayness

There is definitely a link between car make and behaviour.

Whether it's because a certain car provides a lot of power for cheap so P-platers can afford and maintain them or whether it be the fact that some car enthusiast communities promote more responsible driving than others, just have a look at the difference between nissansilvia.com and skylinesaustralia.com members, the link is there. DISCLAIMER: I am not saying one community is better than the other, or is more responsible, but the two communities have completely different values.

There is also a difference in the drivers of each make. In some people's industries it is much more acceptable to rock up to work sideways, yet in other industries people would call you a d1ckhead for drifting into the carpark. One industry might lend itself to Holden's and Ford's due to seating capacity and load capacity and some industries won't have that requirement.

No one said that there isn't an understandable reason why Holden's are the most popular hoon car.

The point is that FOR WHATEVER reason they are APPARENTLY but statistically the most popular hoon car.

I don't hate commodore's I used to drive a fairly worked VL myself but to say there is no correlation is cr@p. It's all in the statistics and yes, us Nissan drivers are considered to be one of the worst.

hi I'm Ric and i used to own a commonwhore. (There i said it, what a relief)

case in point, the other day i was at the carwash, drying off my r33 next to another P-plater in a red vs commy. this thing was DUMPED, on stock hubcaps and the paint was mint, must have been resprayed. anyway as i had a bit of a soft spot for old commodores, i had a bit of a glance or two at his car. then when the guy left, i put my head down and kept drying my car, he then proceeds to exit the carwash sideways, looking over at me for some form of recognition. i just turned my head in shame at this knob, getting sideways with incomin

IMO i think it's true that most hoon drivers have commodores, irrespective of the proportion of p-platers that have them etc. those few people who drive commodores sensibly can bitch and moan all they like about being unfairly targeted, but at the end of the day the stats don't lie.

Surprisingly most of the Commo hoons out blacktown way that I have encountered are not P platers.. Usually its the guy in his mid 30s-40 going through a major mid life crisis. And this is his fix dragging off guys like me in my wifes auto 1.6 N13 pulsar....

    • Howdy friends, So another weird one today, I was looking into replacing some broken clips holding the front grille for the R32 GTR (part number 01553-03831), and noticed the brackets which are supposed to hold the grille in place were also missing 😑. I do recall seeing this issue many years ago, but didn't fix it at the time. A quick look on eBay and I was able to find the genuine brackets, along with all the screws which suited the headlights (part numbers 26042-08U05,26092-08U05). Happy days!....  Once they arrived however there was an extra nut in the packaging which implied that there should also be a bolt or a stud, and sure enough, after a bit of searching I found this thread from 2013, and @Ants clearly shows a stud should be present. Reading around a bit more, it's possible the headlights on my car are the "povo pack" headlights as mentioned by @funkymonkey in this thread way back in 2008. This could explain why the studs are missing on my set of headlights. Looking at the headlight diagram I wasn't able to see a suitable part number for the stud itself. The headlight did indeed have a recess that looked like it would accept a stud, but interestingly no thread or anything obvious how the stud would be affixed to the headlight, I suspect it may have been glued in, press fit, or melted into the plastic at the factory. Another member may be able to clarify if they happen to have a genuine set of N1 headlamps. The only thing we have to work with within the recess is a keyway which likely is there to prevent the stud from rotating within the recess. In any case, back to 3D printing, I put together a model which acts like a pug with a friction fit inside this recess, making use of the keyway so it doesn't rotate while tightening a bolt. Printing in TPU will allow it to slightly swell making a nice snug fit without cracking the part. I've designed the adaptor it to accept an 20 mm M6 bolt (stainless with a cap head in my case), as opposed to the standard M5 stud and I made use of the standard galvanised split washer that came with the genuine brackets from Nissan. Once the bolt and screws were all in place, giving the bracket a gentle shake gave the classic "shaking the car" feeling, very solid, which gives me confidence this is going to be able to hold on much better than the janky solution which seems to have been here for the past decade or so. Overall I'm really pleased with how this turned out and maybe there are more people out there running these headlights without a centre stud at all! • Hey everyone, This is my first post apart of the introduction. I tried searching a bit on the forum but couldn't really get a straight answer. I got the car to my mechanic as I felt it being weak. It seems that it was missing on two cylinders due to the injectors. I had all my injectors clean and the car runs much better. The mechanic also confirmed my suspicions that the cat is clogged and needs to be tackled asap. The cat rattles a bit and the hot exhaust warning frequently lights up when driving after getting the injectors clean. In my introduction I was asked about what modification I might be interested in and mentioned a cat delete. From what I was told, this is not really beneficial on the RB20DE and there are more cons than pros.  Could perhaps anyone give some suggestions on what the best course of action would be since the current cat is toast and needs to be removed/replaced anyway? I can also sometimes smell a strong smell of fuel, but I'm not sure if this is related.
    • Hope the cans went down well at least
    • 255 can't go wrong with the price.
    • When I was replacing my pump due to being stranded in the wrong state, I went with the Deatschwerks 320lph kit. It is a direct plug in to the stock wires, harness, everything. It comes with a plug... but you can plug the OEM plug directly into this thing. https://justjap.com/products/deatschwerks-dw300-fuel-pump-nissan-s13-silvia-r32-r33-r34-skyline-c34-stagea?currency=AUD Downside: Won't actually flow that much on boost if you want to push it on E85, but it's comparable to the 040/255 etc. Little more actually.
