Unexpected Damage

Just the other night I was coming out of a club walking towards my car when i see this shitbox commo reverse into the car behind it ... some scared shitless chick driver comes out for a sec, realizes what she did, gets back in and starts driving off... with the other car's WHOLE frontbar attached to her towing bar and scraping along the road.

I thought for a sec about following her and atleast getting her plates and leaving a note for the owner of the damaged car, but couldn't be farked. Still feel bad I haven't done it. The only mild consolation for the other driver was that the car seemed liked a shitbox too, but still... people like that make me sick.

Was Burt Reynolds around cause I think I saw that movie? These are the reasons why I have a second car. Bunky for town, R for cruising.

I think there are a couple of reasons behind this behaviour.

1. General decline of moral standards in our country

2. People are scared that they are going to get beat up for scratching someones car

NO NOT YET!! The end of the story goes like this...

Denis' car gives chase out of the carpark doing a mild step-out in the process before regaining control - after all Denis is an experienced driver..

Then he steps on it, recognising a front bumper ahead following a s-box really really close.

Ooops! All of a sudden, the speeding driver ahead goes over a dip in the road, the bumper bar dislodges from her towbar and just sits there waiting for Denis' car to climb into it just as he'd made ground on her s-box!!

Dammit!! By watching this stupid front bar make a crunching sound into Denis' front splitter, he totally forgets to look at the rego plate of the getaway car who's driver is totally oblivious to the carnage she's left behind!!!

Have I reached the end of the story yet??

Do you feel better now - now that I've told you what could have happened ??

he he, ta mate .. but I still feel like I could (or should) have atleast tried to grab her rego before she made a run for it.. atleast the poor sod could have claimed the damages from his insurance without paying excess fees (if he had insurance that is). Ah well.

the amount of cars we have to repair at work because they have been keyed in unreal, we get afew a week, i know who did mine and i'm not going to stoop to his level, if i see him out i'll have my way with him but im not going to damage his cars

two days ago i saw a 4x4 back into another 4x4.. hit the car, then stopped, i heard it so i looked at it, car that got hit was shaking from the impact.. then as i stared, the driver continued to reverse.. ripped even more paint off the other car.. then tried to drive off, got stuck behind another car.. then i got his plate number.. and the owner told the cops u f*ckhead, i got ya

Out Of Interest: How do you get over or thru your rage when you find your car bumper has been scraped or a panel's been keyed?

It's very disconcerting eh when no-one witnesses it or even leaves a note?

Here what happened to me in just one week. ONE WEEK! I find my car outside my work and see someone has backed into the rear left wheel, also hitting the guard. There was a tiny scratch. a couple days later i was parked on the street Maroons and Blues night (big mistake!) and some douchebag dacks himself and sits his ass on my bonnet yelling out 'f**k the blues!" as my car is blue. He then pisses off with his mates. f**king ashole. I followed him down the road and hopped out of my car and lobbed a glass coke bottle at the prick hitting him in the arm. Payback! THEN, on my way back home five minutes after that incident a girl runs a red light and taps the front left of my guard and bumper. could have been alot worse if i hadnt swerved..... THENNNNNNN, just last night my house mate left the rake on the ground and when i rolled over the rake it flicked up and started tapping the side of my rear right guard........

I shit you not. This happened all in the one week. In between seven days. Bad things come in three but seriously, 4?! They could have been alot worse though. Hard thing now is finding someone in darwin who can do a good job painting bayside blue.....

I knew I started this thread for a reason !!

It's 5pm this afternoon; and I can't believe my eyes. I guy in a wheelchair up the road decides to squeeze between my daily and a ramp. I mean my Prelude is minding its own business on the road, and the disabled guy can't go 20m away to a crossing ?? I don't know whether I should feel sorry for him or get angry. 4 scratches on the front left. Oh well; Jesus forgives me - I'll forgive him eh?

Hope things don't occur in 3s

I wondered back to my car on monday night and found this little present left for me by someones towbar

They didnt even leave any details.. that annoyed me the most..

The pictures are taken after i pushed the indicator back into place..

Im pretty happy that the intercooler wasnt damaged at all

And the respray means ill get rid of those annoying stone chips ive been meaning to touch up..

Still as you can imagine i was not a happy camper...

I feel for all those whom have comeback to their carsand found damage it sux bad

ive never had this happen but I got a dent in my door from some other car.there door bumped into my door I can tell cuz of blck paint.fixed with goof off ands my dent puller^^.now I park away from cars but people stillll try to park next to me

i know how ya feel mate. had my car egged one chrissy while fishing with me mate. all we heard was a splat. wasn't quick enough to catch the bastards. i'm just lucking they hit the tail light and not the paint. it damaged the light a little but nothing to big.

When I had my R34 ages a go I parked it at my TAFE carpark and went to class, came back to find some prick left a longs scrape along the left side of my frontbar, had to have been an old sh#tbox because it was black plastic that was rubbed off. luckily only superficial scraping, a small respray fixed it but still a pain in the @ss.

Different outcome - with possible consequences!

My 1st car (and how precious is our 1st car?) was a brand spanking new Datsun 1600. It had Chromies, pin stripes, blacked-out back panel, hot-dog exhaust etc. and I parked it at night in the Uni Car Park just under the library window where I was studying.

Then this old guy (about my age now lol) rocks up in his bashed up Toyota Crown and scrapes my rear quarter on entry to his spot!

He doesn't even...

i) leave a note

ii) inspect the damage

iii) try to park somewhere else

Then I ran hell-4-leather outta the library and chase after him as he goes inside the Admin and strolls to his office, leaving whiffs of alcohol down the passageway.

When I confront him with what I saw, he used threatening gestures and told me to get out of his office, or he'd get me thrown out of Uni! What a b*****d!!!

But that was like waving a red flag in front of Terry; so I went back inside the library and told my study-buddy about this jerk.

10 minutes later, when we both went back down and confronted the old codger about my buddy being 'a witness to the accident' he backed down and paid me cash.

What a bum! I was 20yrs old and even with his $$ in my pocket, I still felt like putting his head thru the wall!!!

Ive had that before. come out in the morning to find an egg smashed on the bonnet and windscreen. left a circle of chip marks on the bonnet. another time egged again on the roof, no bad scratches that time.

another time sitting in my old vl waiting for the girlfriend to get the paper, old lady reverses into me while trying to exit her park next to me. i jumped out and she was like i didnt know you were there. dumb mole.

ive also had multiple dents put into my 33 from the work carpark, which i can see the car all day, from peoples doors. had them fixed.

ive also had 2 seperate incidents where peolpe have hit the back of my car while parking next to me.

shits me no end. absolutely no respect for other peoples stuff!! no one leaves notes anymore, just drive off like it never happened. KARMA WILL strike back at them 2fold!!!

i now park in 2 spaces where ever i go and always away from the main cars too.

That could backfire, was walking back to my car when I saw a VW keyed on it's bonnet, someone keyed (barely readable) "Nice Park" and took up a fair chunk of the bonnet, it was in parked 2 spaces.

didnt happen to me but at my old work notice a car damaged that wasnt earlier on a side street so walked over to check it out. was a postit note on the windscreen that read " mate sorry i hit your car but you can get F*(^ed". i cant imagine the guy gettin over that one in a hurry.

On another not at garden city shops i have a make shift carpar is a space between trolleybays a pillar and a wall. seems nobody goes near there when i park there though not even trolleys end up around the car when i come back so is my lucky carpark.
