Egr Removal

Are there any issues doing an EGR removal to a RB26?... engine not go bang? lol

Im not sure about later Rb26's but my RB26 out of the R32 doesnt have any form of EGR.

Then what makes you think it is EGR equipped?

Because I havn't bought it yet and the wiring diagrams I looked at have EGR on the pin-out diagram.

Well it has no physical EGR on it. My engine has been on the stand for about 6 months, i have pulled it completely down and rebuilt it myself and i can assure you there is no EGR piping, valve, actuator, etc. Perhaps the wiring has also been used for other models which do include EGR. I could be wrong but i thought perhaps the RB20 had EGR?

Certainly no EGR on an RB26. They'd be hard pressed to physically find the space to do it i reckon haha.

EGR setups are for economy, commuter cars.. like SR's in Silvia platforms Apart from the charcoal cannister, i don't think a 26 has any emissions gear.

Double check the manual (post a screen dump) as you must be looking at another RB motor.

EGR is actually for lower combustions temps resulting in lower NOx emission. Its all about emission control.

Emissions yes, I wasn't implying anything else.

Its an in-joke i have with some mates. The less cluey ones are amazed an "89 JDM car doesn't have an exhaust recirc setup.
