Head Lights

hi sorry if i sound stupid but the other day i turnt my head lights on n the left light wasnt workn i jumpd out the car gave it abit of a thump and it workd fine . sometimes when i turnt lights on it would work fine others i had to thump the headlight again . now seems as if its dead thumpn it aint workn anymore the tiny light to the left of it working fine ( park light?) but yea just wondering if u guys had any advice ..maybe wiring or am i looking at buying a new bulb ..are they very expensive..? am willing to pull it apart to have a look .just waitn on some sunny weather .although i have no experience wat so ever ill give it ago  ..tips please!! really not keen on taken screws out that i didnt have to or even removing parts that i think i had to..pictures wud be cool. sori if this has been posted b4 n il go n use the search button right now..

The bulb is on the way out. Hitting it causes the filament to rejoin and it works until you switch it off and it cools. Buy a new bulb they arent expensive.

hey thanks godzilla will all the info i need on finding a replacement b printed on the bottom of the broken bulb?

am i able to replace the bulbs with a brighter type? halogen or xenon. or will they not fit into a standard soket?

have a 95 gtst coupe not sure what series..

or u have the same problem i did. earthing issues with wiring in back of headlight. check all ur wires anjd connections etc

R33 '95 series are usually just normal bulbs. '96 and above uses 12v 55w halogens like mine. Some R33 GTR uses xenons (very rare), R34 all uses xenons.

the only r33 model that uses xenons from factory is the series 3 gtr with those sexy projector lights. i wanted sum till i saw the price of them yikes.

**.update.** both left head light and park light are not working.. hi beam works fine. is there a reason both bulbs would die at the same time...? or is it norm for the park light not 2 function when there is a blown head light..

teng - so im unble to use a brighter bulb? im not to sure but a halogen bulb is brighter then a standard bulb?

Check your old bulbs to see what kind is it. I'm not saying halogens will not work but it all depends on your bulb holders.

if you have these headlamps, then you can use xenons.
