Last friday i went through a booze bus, then as im about to drive off a smartass cop tells me to pull over up ahead. He then tells me i can't drive my car because its too powerful mind you its a R34 25gt N/A and im on my green p's.

Another cop comes to my window who wasnt a smartass and explains it all to me and i told them about 100000 times that it isnt too powerful, but cops being cops didnt listen and gave me a $220 fine and lost 3 demerit points, the cop said I have to get some info from nissan or put it on a dyno to show its within the power weight restrictions.

So last saturday morning I woke up, went to about 5 automotive places to try find someone whos got a dyno. Finally found one, pulled 100KW and is way within the power:weight ratio, so now I just have to send the dyno sheet and fine to the cops to squash the fine and get my points back.

That night i went to a party in footscray, about 200 people turned up and it ended up finishing early because all the neighbours called the cops. As I was leaving a cop signaled for me to pull over, i stopped pretty close to him coz i hate slamming on my brakes and jolting. He smashed my bonnet and said "I TOLD YOU TO F**KING STOP" then he came over to my window and put his hand around my throat and said "NEXT TIME I SAY STOP YOU F**KEN STOP", im like alright dude can you stop choking me now...

I've never seen so many cops around and had so much to do with them before, except for a few times for drinkin in public... one of them on friday was a real f*ckwit about my car being too powerful... he was some idiot from caroline springs TMU. I saw another skyline drive past that got waved through coz the cars were banked up going through the booze bus.... lucky bastard

wtf isnt that assault?

They have no right to grab at your throat like that.... :(

Bad luck 14...

I've been using my nissan as a daily for 4+ years now and never been pulled over or hassled.

I get pulled over in my cruiser every so often but it's generally so they can waste my time while I listen to them talk crap.

Speed camera fines aside I've nothing to complain about...actually I can't really complain about that either.

If I were you 14 i'd lay some complaints re: treatment and officer knowledge/training.

The officer had no right to grab your throat...time to stick it to the man, got bruising/witness?

thats exactly what i was thinking.....and isnt slamming on the bonnet classified as damage to private property?

last time a cop stopped me, i let him do the talking, i got out, poo'ed on the bonnet of his cop car, and peed on his face while poo'ing on his bonnet, did a :( dance, jumped off his bonnet, landed and kicked him in the ding ding and then went on my merry way

havent been stopped since.......

the guy grabbing your throat is pretty hardcore man. are you sure things happened like that? are we missing something here?

yeh man, not to sound like i'm callin u a liar or anything, but the "cop grabbin u by the throat" business is a pretty daring call! Especially if you say that all u did was stop when u were told to...

It's BS that cops can physically abuse people like that without justified cause for such aggression, even though i know it does happen. Could you have done/said anything that might have provoked him, without you realising?

sure you weren't wearing your favourite "fuck tha police" t-shirt on the day? grabbing you by the throat is a bit harsh, and if you were smart you'd have got his badge number or name. Either way, call the local police dept (to the place where the party was), and report the incident.

+2

though if the officer went straight to the window to grab his neck

I doubt (1337) would of thought to look at his badge after such a incident.

was mostly like shocked by that situation.

if you are ok with cop attention keep the skyline

if you arent - sell it - expect a lot of attention - its an import and a known hoons car so youll get lots of attention, even though its an N/A

100% agree. I got pulled over the other night. Marked police car doing speed check. Looks at me, puts radar gun down and drives behind me. Tells me that he knows I wasn't doing anything wrong however his response was "I only pulled you over because you drive a skyline". He took photos of the engine bay and told me to expect a letter from epa. Which I did yesterday morning.

Such is life.

I have been pulled over by cops many times, sometimes justified sometimes not. Latley though it took the cake, they followed me for about 1.5km, so I decided to wait on the a red arrow, hoping the long line of cars would make them loose intrest. When the arrow when green about 10 cars got through, but I didn't, this time I was 3rd in the line with the cops still waiting behind me. Next green arrow I got through, again about 10 cars got through, but the cops pulled me over, expected, but what was unexpected was they charged me for going through a yellow arrow. It was definatly still green when I was halfway throught the intersection, I am 100% about that. I argued, but he just said, take it to the courts. I don't have time for the courts and I doubt I could defend myself against them anyway even if I did. If I take it on the chin it will be the second time I have to and I only have 3 points left. Such is life :(

But in your case grabbing you by the throat is just unexceptable, he should be taken down.

yeah that's true too...

completely unexpected

even I couldn't tell how i'd react if that happened to me...?

yesterday we got pulled over. the wife was driving and the baby was in the child seat. apparently he couldnt see the front number plate, which he duly went to the front and noticed that it was there. all good. except he got on the road and caught someone else 50meters up the road.

the lesson of the story, sell the skyline and get an evo

haha yeah not long ago i went through a booze bus in the S15 (AUS spec so its legal on p's) and the cop stoped me as i was about to drive away, and said "why are you driving this car" hahah i just continually said "because i'm allowed to" with him answering "no you are not"

... i waited til i was holding up all 7 cars behind me as i was first in line.. then his fellow copers came over to see what was going on.. that was when i let it rip with precise nissan power figures and weight figures... even did the calculation showing it was under 125kw/tonne, which is the only power restriction law that governs me and showed him my birthday on my licence to prove when i got my p's. by this stage all 8 copers standing around my car went "yeah thats sounds fair" the cop who accused me went bright red in the face and went "well go on, get out of here"

yeh okay dickhead.

this is wat shits me the most.

flamin mongrels post on here about their dilemmas and hot shot mods come along with the infamous line of "man the f*k up or get lost"

if i dont like the way ur face looks ill shoot u .

if your okay with it keep it

if you aint, get plastic surgery.

does that sound senseable?

the fact that these cops firstly dont no wtf they are talking about is insane, wth are these ppl out on the roads if they cant do their job properly.

and come on, grabbing the guy by the throat and deliberately smashing the car?

my advice buddy is the next time u run into anyone like that in the force, you grab a badge ID. if they reuse it its not hard to jot down the car rego and time so they can locate who was rostered that nite.

but i can sorta understand if your mind wasnt where it should of been after a incident like that, thats of course if it happened like you siad.

ive never had police problems, and you should see my car.

best of luck

    • yeah first and reverse is where you will find clutch release issues (whether hydraulic or mechanical) because the difference in revs required is the highest there; particularly changing down from 2nd to 1st when still moving. To be clearer though, it is possible that the clutch release bearing is the wrong height. This is less likely than a hydraulic issue but it is not unheard of when you are mixing and matching
    • Quite right, if you make it to that pension you deserve every cent
    • Hi all, Restoring r33 series 1 rb25det. All the heater hoses were on their way out, have replaced them and put it all back together. After testing I noticed a small leak from behind the head on the actual metal water line to the turbo when cars warm. I tried running a longer hose over it but it kept leaking...   I am about to take the (stock) manifold off again😔 to change the water line does any one have any lines they recommend? I was looking at Aeroflow Turbo Oil & Water Line Set but not sure what everyone else recommends. Car is completely stock but want to upgrade turbo eventually. it looks like ill have to disconnect a lot just to replace these lines so if there's anything else recommended to do please let me know. Thank you in advance!
    • From memory, on the R33 GTSt at least, while everyone says "It's not adjustable", I found when I changed clutches in mine, it just needed a small adjustment on the rod length. But be very wary here, as you could end up trying to push the pushrod in the master too far, or blowing out the slave.   Most likely though, if the master/slave isn't bypassing internally or leaking out, then the throw out is the wrong height compared to the fingers on the clutch, so when it moves to disengage the clutch, it isn't 100% disengaged. You can check part of this out too by jacking the car up, having the engine running, put your foot on the clutch and try to engage 1st gear. If it goes in pretty easy (Compared to the ground) and/or the wheels start turning a fair bit and it takes a bit too much brake pedal to bring them back to a stop, this is likely the issue.  I'm not sure if you can adjust the height of the forks etc in these though, it's been that long since I've touched any RB gearbox.
    • That's all good, I thought I was missing some interesting feature! Maybe @PranK can double check if that is something that is meant to be operating or not.
