not 100% but pretty sure its illegal for cops to not supply you with their rank, name and ID number if you ask for it.

Not all cops are out to get "hoons" Most are there to just get their job done.

Most of the people that post threads like this have usually changed their story to make themselves look and sound better then the cops. Its not always a fully factual story of the events that happened.

Most people that are on forums like Skylines WRX, NS etc forget to remember that cops DO read this stuff. Posting things like all cops are f@#kwits etc is only giving yourself a bad name and making you AND the rest of us look stupid.

Cops love pulling me over because i drive a GTR. They have never spoken to me in an unprofessional manner. Ive had cops talk to me with anger in their voice but that could be explained for what i was doing prior to them pulling me over. They still were very professional.

you are 100% correct, police officers, infact anyone in public safety forces must give ID numbers if requested.

i sorta understand how these cops must feel seeing all these idiots on the road

i drive my car down to the milk bar and the amount of idiots in VLs and commodores trying to intimidate me is insane. sometimes i wish i was a cop just so i could give them a good choke in the throat and a good bonnet wacking

so i sorta do feel for these guys.

oh and thanks goes to Andru for the entertainment i spoke of earlier! :laughing-smiley-014:

i usually dont post up my stories but i gotta tell ya this 1!

I had a bloke in a VY-SS wanting to drag from the lights on Westall rd / Heatherton Rd. i smiled at him. The lights went green and he booted it. I drove off normally. The cop car that was sitting behind the SS booted it off after the moron! Laughed so hard! :laughing-smiley-014:

yeh okay dickhead.

Alrighty. Man, I'm not takin anyone's side. I can't say i know you too well...i met you once at the east/west side meet and i'm sure you don't remember me but i can say that you didn't seem like such a bad guy to talk to...

one thing i do know is that you're pretty well known for bein flamed on, the moment you hit the "add reply" button to any post that you type up. maybe it might help if u keep from starting your retaliations with the above quote? You're upset at his response, that's cool...but you still would have been able to make your point across without insulting him first...and the outcome of your post would have been equally as intense and your point would have sounded just as clear...

again, i'm not taking sides...it's been said a million times before...everyone is entitled to their opinion

cya 'round buddy! :)

Justin

my advice buddy is the next time u run into anyone like that in the force, you grab a badge ID. if they reuse it its not hard to jot down the car rego and time so they can locate who was rostered that nite.

Your dead right mate... They HAVE TO show you thier badge ID name and number ... otherwise how are you to know they are really a police officer... they could be anyone!

if they refuse to show you thier badge id and name well as far as you are concerned they are not a police officer and you can do what you like... drive off, not listen to them etc

I really feel for you mate, im sure many of us have been there ourselves.

next time just run over him and say you pannicd and pressed the accelerator instead of the brake.

ROFL thats class. i would, if he was being that much of an asshole to me, specially if he whcked my hood.

lol thats a classic.

but yeh man im around your area, i live around caroline springs/hillside, and u get some real assholes, i dont respect any of the highway cops. I mean i have respect for the law, and some cops obviously.

i have my gun license, so i expect i should obviously have some credit wif the fkin law, i jus show em that license whenever they pull me over.

damn right :P

anyway bad luck man.

good luck with it, you should get your points back, jus such a hassle they cause . if u arnt throttling it of its tits goin past a cop and drivin like i hoon. they shouldn't make u do that, they are suppose to prevent danger n shit lol pulling u over for no reason like they did if ur driving responsibly is silly.

They do go off flywheel power figures, far as ive always known.

Not that i wannt to add more crap, but lol ive already had 4-5 defects since ive had it for the past 2 yrs plus an EPA

Never complain about it, cause its the law and thats it.

I just agree with the officer and not try to cause anymore dramas, cause we both know its wrong, and the past few times its been the same officer and we dont even bother to pop the bonnet now. good relationship lol

I still think skyline drivers are highly victimised and sort out amongst other cars, they'd rather pull up a skyline then a car thats falling to pieces and "unsafe" bald tyres etc but we have ourselves and others to blame for that.. that'll never change "hence why i bought my ute"

If your telling the thruth about what happened that night, A = dont even bother paying the fine , take it to court and "IF" the rules are still off flywheel figures then you wont even need a dyno print out. And it would hopefully been just a case of common sense.

And B = If this other officer did do what you say for no apparent reason, then again report it and it'll go to court etc..and there'd be some serious circumstance for him. you might have just caught him at a bad time, couple of my family memebers are in the force and i hear enough stories.

my 2 cents catch.

hmmmm it seems to me that a lot of people here either exagerate their stories a bit too much or that road police are just *milkshakes*!

i've had a pretty solid history with police in the past and they've usually been decent to me to an extent.. but never been assaulted or treated like an absolute piece of shit like some guys here claim to have happened.

If this cop did hit your car and grab you by the throat mate that's seriously farked and i agree with everyone saying next time either try a sneak video or get badge number at least!

road police are just *milkshakes*!

haha isnt that the word (DRIF7N made up on NS?)

anyways OT

try a sneak video or get badge number at least!

Have you ever thought of the consequences of using a phone while being pulled over?

I think its possible if they catch you recording them they could charge you for driving while using a mobile phone or some sort of filming without consent crime.

If the OP is explaining the occasion he had that day, rather then accuse the OP as "making up" the story.

maybe we should give advice on what to do in those circumstances and treat it as if it did happen.

I'm not saying that the story would be entirely true, but its not like something that has never occurred before... (that a cop had physically attacked someone)

1. Dyno reading etc has no bearing. Its off the factory figures from Nissan

2. Make an official complaint and off to court if the officer did indeed grab your throat and assault, then post the findings of the court case once its all settled. Although, i suspect it'll never happen

Other than that, do we really need another thread like this? As entertaining as they can be when the usual suspects roll into the threads, they are just useless

Thanks.

    • Trying to find the plastic under cover for an 04' Forester X. The main under cover that covers most of the front of the vehicle under the engine. This has turned out to be a crazy experience. Normally I can find parts for vehicles, if I have the correct info, no problem. But not this! The Forester is a non-turbo btw. In a Forester parts catalog, for model years 03'-06', it shows part# 56410SA070 as being the correct part. So I go to the local Subaru dealership's website to order it. I type in the part#, hit search and there it is, the under cover. "DOES THIS PART FIT YOUR VEHICLE?" I type in my VIN# and sure enough, "This Part Does Not Fit Your Vehicle. See Similar Parts For Your Vehicle." I click on that and part# 56410SA000 comes up. Looks absolutely nothing like the previous part. Not even close. So I go to a different Subaru dealer website and put in that 2nd part# (56410SA000) and "This Part Has Been Replaced By" 56410SA070, which is the first part I looked up. I thought OK, makes sense. They replaced the strange looking part, with the one I looked up first, so I add it to the cart. "Does This Part Fit Your Vehicle?" I type in my VIN#, and sure enough, "This Part Does Not Fit Your Vehicle." I've basically been doing this with various parts suppliers and dealerships, for the past 4 hours! Does anyone know what the hell is going on?? Thanks in advance!
    • have you rotated the car yet? if so how smooth was it?
    • And finally, I had the driver's side airbox off while adding a long drain hose under the oil can to down near the oil filter. Doesn't look good, it has definitely had an turbo oil seal leak and looks like it has been for a long time.....guess I'll have to get a pair of highflows to put on the shelf It's also worth mentioning it has a really strange clamp between the bottom of the airflow meter (which has a big barb/lip on it) and the intake pipe. I've used the magic of MSPaint to show, basically you have to clip out those 2 steel springs which unlocks the hose from the AFM. I used 2 flat screwdrivers, the spring sort of clips into the unlocked position. Reassembly you just pop them both back flat once the hose is far enough up the AFM that the spring clamp is above the barb. Weird to use but much more convenient once your'e used to it compared to trying to do up a hose clamp under the airbox like on 32 GTR
    • The other thing I started was a fire extinguisher bracket.  As with a few other cars previously (350z, Leaf), I'm going to add a bracket between the navigator seat's front bolts, then mount the extinguisher on that. Unfortunately Nissan (probably the same engineer who did the A/T fluid interwarmer) decided that the front seat brackets would be recessed and uneven so the bracket shape was a bit tricky; I ended up doing 1 part under each seat mount (the large hole is because there is a flange under the seat mount to allow for the carpet thickness)   and then a horizontal part between those 2 No final pic yet as the paint needs to dry, I'll post up once that's done
