My exhaust is a N1 Mega Premium.. Basically the best one I think.

The car has not been tuned correctly yet, do you feel this will help at all? Its been pre tuned but needs touch ups.

Thanks for all the feedback, It was actually vibrating the windows on my friends n13 and I felt bad when parents were looking at me with their baby in the back seat.. otherwise I wouldnt be so fussy

Yeah it's one of those things they often get wrong. You have to be insistent and make them read the law again.

I've often wondered if you could just go to a dyno and do something like knock 20 degrees out of your timing, take the dyno printout to the tester and say, "look, peak power at 3500rpm and only 85kw too. db test is at 3/4 of that. "

Either or if its factory specs then I win hands down.... Im assuming the factory specs on a RB25DET are around 5,000 to 5,500 rpm seeing as most are tested at 3,800..... If it was tested on real power then umm imine should be tested at 6,150 ... Id epic fail for sure!!!! lol

Perhaps DECIM8 can test your dyno sheet theory out!!

so do the laws on exhaust noise outlined on the comlaw page apply to all cars or to cars from 1992 upwards?

Seems that way, Pre 1992 also have law restrictions for exhausts however they come down harder on us. so v8s etc get let off because they are classics.

Yes your right I believe from what someone mentioned to me its higher like 93db not much really.. note ive got no 100% answer wtf it is so dont go on my word but I know its higher than ours/mine

Just to bring back a old thread, Recived a letter today from DECC or the EPA because my exhaust is too loud. The public can supposedly submit a complaint for such a thing.

Figured im going to a straight through muffler, for time being silencer is now in .. perm.
