This occurs in a lot of other popular racing events but they overcome this by penalising the car with the advantage by increasing weight / decreasing horsepower etc.

The inherent problem with handicap racing is that teams efforts in engineering a better car get rewarded by a lead trophy. Then it becomes a formula about who can best lobby the governing body to gain the best advantage. Just like Group C used to be.

places like brands hatch.

Maybe if we scrapped crappy circuits like Barbagallos and actually built some interesting, technical and exciting tracks like Brands Hatch, Silverstone, Spa Francochamps or Zandvoort in Australia then we really would need to pack up and ship over the blighty. I'm really not against our touring car series (be it V8's Group A or whatever) expanding regionally, I think racing at places like Sepang, Suzuka, Fiji and Shanghai would be absolutely awesome...

However I agree with the Zed, Lotus, Evo, STi, Fezza, Dodge, Corvette idea... Need to spruce up our local series with some fresh blood..

Oh, and parity racing sucks, as does the control tyre rule...

Bridgestone.

Dunlop.

Michelin/Pirelli.

Maybe have three 'semi-control' compounds, soft, mediums, hards.

Inters & full wets..
