600hp, 3040

Which can make really good power on an RB30DET - it will crack 300kw without stress, but its probably worth knowing that a GT3582R will feel no different on an RB30, but make quite a bit more power again :O

VB- Seemed to be under the impression it was a far smaller turbo than it is.

bingo! was getting confused with the 3071/6, well was thinking of those, didnt realise the 30/40 was that much bigger. lol my bad guys

Its no RB20...

Thank God! :)

But is a very nice setup. Was simply blown away by the throttle response and urgency from low revs. Very, very, very nice setup. Looking at the power delivery i understand why the one timed you opened the taps i did almost shit myself :D The power just keeps climbing and climbingh and you can feel that from the seat of the pants. It not only pulls nicely in the top, you can feel it is making even more power up there

Just came back from a 5-6hr drive with Brisby; completed 270 running-in km on the first night

Damn it felt awesome!! So farken happy!!

Here is the latest run-in tune:

Hey Al what turbo are you running, i cant find your engine specs in the rb30 dyno thread?

thats great results for a 3076r on 16psi (i think thats what the dyno graph says?), any ideas what the turbo is capable on pump fuel and around 20-22psi? might be something i will put on my new rb30det setup as im only gonna be chasing low 400hp mark or so on stock internals and aiming for response more than anything.

I think quite a few people are watching with interest to see where it can make it to. The way it levels off up high suggests to me it might start struggling to pass 320kw.

With good fuel the gt3076's have cracked 340rwkw.

The Gt3040 with good fuel has cracked 360rwkw but bugger all more.

The gt3040 vs gt3076 on pump fuel the gt3076 wins as its more responsive, linear and is slightly less laggy. With E85 around the corner the gt3040 may be a better option.

I just don't like the way the gt3040's come on boost compared to the gt3076 and gt3540's. But thats just me...

GT40 +E85 +rb30det ftw. :D
