After 2 days of trying to find this problem of the AFM reading 2V on idle, we have proved the PFC to be the problem. it is sending its own signal resulting in 2 volts between the ecu and afm.

We removed the possibility of the loom being faulty by running a wire from the afm signal output to the ecu connector and removing the loom wire.

Running 2 Z32 afms in series showed us that the one connected to the PFC ran 2v, the one individually wired showed 1.2v (idle)

I need this thing fixed! Its a brand new unit too!

and we need it tomorrow to be ready for winton friday nite.

or if anyone has a PFC for SR20 redtop to lend us for the weekend that would be fantastic...

please help, weve worked so many late nights to have this thing ready and for the PFC to let us down is just shattering...

...help...

thanks in advance...

Mat.

As a precautionary action, we will be running a new afm signal wire directly to the ECU socket to eliminate any chance of a faulty loom harming the new/repaired/second hand ECU.

Also a big thanks to the guys at RE Customs for taking a look at the ECU setup and Z32 wiring for us. Cheers :P
