chris
Hello all, I am new to this as I have not long owned the car and appologise to those who have heard it all B4.......I own an R33 GTST, which is all but stock other than a cat back, air pod and very basic screw type boost controller (Turbosmart). I have been experiencing problems with the car sort of "surging" and "hesitating" under acceleration (running 12psi boost). With alot of trips back and forth to the workshop the problem has been narrowed down to the mechanical boost controller, which has now been removed. Apparently when running high boost these types of controllers are simply not reliable. At the moment I am running a simple restrictor giving a max of 10.5 psi boost. The car now drives nicely with smooth power delivery except for the fact that it will only boost to around 5 psi until the revs are up over 4-5000. This gives it a two-stage feel rather than an immediate burst and a flat 12psi. I don't like that kind of "step" in the boost and now find myself changing alot more gears and revving the car more, origionally you could drive the car quickly and realy not need any more than 5000 rpm. My question is.......will an electronic boost controller solve my problems (possibly with a little less boost)????? If so which one???? Any advise would be greatly appreciated B4 I go and waste $1000 Cheers Chris Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/22747-in-need-of-help-please/ Share on other sites
