I have finnished running in my engine and need to change my oil and filter i use mobil synthetic oil in my last engine but i was told not to use it on a fresh engine because it can cause glazeing is that true or are they just trying to flog me their kenndal oil they get in from the States :confused:

From what I have read, I wouldn't use synthetic oli for about 5000kms. You want the cylinder bores and rings to fully seat, and mineral oils will allow this to happen more easily.

Once you are at 5000ks though, go for it.

I just changed to a synthetic oil in my transmission, no way would I ever go back to mineral oils again. It's like a new box.
