Last Night i Must have got away luckly i presume

I was pulled over by an Undercover Cop (orange SS) in parramatta beacuse i crossed over a Lined Island. This is what happened

1. he introduced himself to me

2. he then asked for m licence and gave me a breath test.

3. He told me to open my bonnet.

He questioned me on my CAI box due to the fact it was Stainless steel and my Blow off Valve. And he als o questioned me on my Gauges. He could have kept goin but he seemed nice and didnt.

4. He took a photo of my whole car and the engine bay. then asked for engineers

i respond that i didnt have engineers due to the fact there useless. and he did say nothing.

For somereason he let me off without defect except a fine for emissions. and that was $132 with no points....

As soon he saw the skyline Australia sticker on ther rear he Said Did you like what we did at nightshift recently. He also state that they are on this forum searching for through it.

On the bright side the officer said this is very good club to affilated with as there are not bad as NS ......

what are your thoughts

lol @ the nightshift thing :)

Yeah they photo'd my car when I was defected.

I think it's common knowledge that the police read certain forums from time to time...

Maybe it's time I finally put an SAU sticker on the car :whistling:

They've been taking photos for some time of modified cars. I think it's to help them teach others what's what, so they don't call pod filters BOV's. :whistling:

You got off rather lightly.

Nightshift?

Yeah im so greathful i got let off

Read this about night shift

The sau sticker is a godsent

I wanted to put the long www.skylinesaustralia.com.au one on my wing... but I lost it :whistling:

Then I got defected for the wing :)

Man you are an executive for SAU NSW get another one :worship:

Why did they defect you for the wing

Hehehehehe I know... it's kinda slack :) I'll chuck the little one on tonight just for you! :worship:

They defected the wing because they said the metal stands it was on could hurt someone if I were to hit a pedestrian, and have them fly over the car into the metal stands... Apparently the stock ones are designed to break...

Same officer that said number plates have to be located in the middle of the front bumper :whistling:

Either way, it's all very interesting. If they are here to learn more about what is legal and what isn't, then good on em! I don't argue with police, but I cringe when they get things wrong.

I dont wanna sound dumb.................... But if you hit a pedestrian what more damage can the wing do... 14000kg of metal hitting a human another 20kg aint do much more

Surface area of the point of impact. Front of a car can spread the force better than 2 metal pieces sticking out of the rear. think: you hit something with a hammer, leaves a dent. Put a nail on the end of the hammer: penetrates.

Oooh, if we're going to go into that, you also have to bring into the differences of my wing, and the standard wing Not to mention that the vector and velocity of the car will without a doubt, pass on some of it's kinetic energy to the person, making the 'initial' impact on the wing a lot less.

But seriously, it so isn't that important :whistling:

I've never really been on NS.com...

so dare i ask: What makes them so bad?

nothing. I'm a member on NS. And those guys are just as enthusiastic as anyone else. I think maybe they're a more social forum, so the fact that they're on more meets/cruises i guess gives them higher exposure to police..which in turn would make them seen as "hoons" because we all know how strict the police are with defects.

that may not be right but that was the only answer i could come up with that made me sound intelligent

all the more reason for the mods/admins to be even more strict when coming across any talk of street racing or illegal activities.

if its a good thing you might find more NS'ers rocking SAU stickers to try and give the cops a good impression.

now that would be such a sweet sweet irony.

    • Update time!  The JZX110 had some maintenance needing to be done, so a lot of the seals with replaced to fix some oil leaks. Also used this opportunity to whack on a front mount that I'd bought some time ago.  I also finally got the rear lip painted and fitted.  I then got the exhaust done. It's just a catback for now. Custom made 3" stainless with a turn down. I could have a tip coming out, but it will require cutting the rear lip and possibly the bumper itself. So far I do like and it's made the car a little more zippy.  Close out with some nice pictures of the cars and a sneak peek of what's next.

    • Just something I found searching for more info on Emotion R, apparently the ECR33 Skyline GTS25t was either originally black, or there were two of them, the black one being the original demo car, then building a white one which was part of the 1997-onwards (to at least 2008!) Cockpit Tatebayashi Tokyo Auto Salon booth demo cars. It appears that Emotion R closed down in 2008 and was declared bankrupt in 2010: http://bank-db.com/hasan/208365. Scan of a magazine with the black R33 from 1996: Wayback machine archived page from May, 2000: https://web.archive.org/web/20000529061027/http://www.emotion-r.co.jp/skyline.html Option magazine with a few photos from the Cockpit Tatebayashi booth at the Auto Salon from various years: 2002: http://www.jdm-option.com/photo/index.php?action=item&category_id=154&image_id=3507 2003: http://www.jdm-option.com/photo/index.php?action=item&category_id=137&image_id=3033 2005: http://www.jdm-option.com/photo/index.php?action=item&category_id=116&image_id=1831 In 2008 Cusco website mentions that the Cockpit Tatebayashi ECR33 was displayed at that year's Tokyo Auto Salon: https://www.cusco.co.jp/event/2008/12/post_735.html As of 2021 it appears that the ECR33 demo car ended up being exported to Florida, USA: https://rmcmiami.com/inventory/1996-nissan-skyline-r33-cockpit-tatebayashi-demo-car-big-te06-turbo-endless-brakes-lsd-450hp/ And finally here's Google streetview of the Emorion R garage in 2023 which is amazingly not only still there, but the showroom is still full of various parts in stock and funishings, etc.: https://maps.app.goo.gl/ttyEAZdZLyzermyT9 Apologies for nerding out a bit. I used to love doing this 20 years ago on SAU and got a bit nostalgic for a moment... 😅
