I Got An Iphone...i Got An Iphone Today Hooray!

Recommended Posts

Pretty annoyed with Optus atm. I have had a phone with them on a $79 cap plan for about 8 months and wanted to upgrade the the iPhone. Happy to pay any outstanding handset payments on my current phone and sign up for a new 24 month contract of the same amount with an iPhone. However they wont let me without charging a cancellation/exit fee for my current plan.

It just doesnt make sense that they wouldnt allow me to start a new contract of the same value which would lock me in with them for an even longer period than I currently am. Im not fussed if I dont get the iPhone on launch day or in a month or so. But having to finish out this contract over the next 16 months before getting one is pretty bloody annoying.

Well not going into what it does and doesnt have, personally I own an ipod why would I want another hybrid with a phone, it's stupid and hardly practical

So you don't have to carry around 2 separate devices

The 2 things I really like about the iphones is the ease of use of the internet client, and the way it does text messages, instead of one message on the screen at a time it shows you the whole message history with the person your replying to. I hate always having to save and go back to see what the txt I am replying to said.

And as Adz's said, you can't beat the size/quality/ease of use of the touchscreen.

I stand by the fact that no matter how much functionality you build into a phone, without a decent size display and a GOOD way to manipulate the data and input info they are fckn useless. These pissy little keyboards just suck.

wise words!

someone came into the studio with an iphone today... had a play with it and its pretty cool but my fingers are too fat to type, I kept hitting the wrong letters! I'm sure you would get better at it but it shat me up the wall...

the GPS/map stuff is farkin cool tho, I'm considering it just for that... and as I'm a Mac user I would prefer it to the Nokia

haha yeh its just my opinion though as i use my camera alot on my fone and am happy with the past/current sony ericsson cybershots i have had.

of course it isn't all about the mega pixels unless you want to print better quality on massive sheets of paper but it wouldn't be a cybershot fone if it didn't have the best of the best sony camera technology.

touch screens frustrate the crap out of me. i had a htc and it took too much attention to do simple things. plus you have to look at it to see what you are typing... for a lot of people it is second nature to type without looking... you dont miss it till its gone.

If they are susceptible to gravity and force impacts like my other phones - then all manner of pretty icons and slidy finger things will not save it from being a useless pile of technology within 3 months of me owning one.

i got HTC touch dual 850. rocks IMO. i got ipod so yeh i dont see much use in iPhone, other than eliinating iPod. but none the less, my HTC has a 4gb card in it, plenty of space for music and porn.. lol

no bluetooth is GAY1!!!!

not half as gay as what happened this arvo. Guy rang me up from the store this arvo to say he was just putting my thing through as the systems were back up. So went down there only to find out my credit check had failed. Hung around in the store for an hour and a half trying to find out why, after multiple call centres and 4 people just hanging up on me I got told there was/is no reason for it to fail it just did. And they can't do another one for 3 months!

i got mine in the US 7 months ago...and im not upgrading to the new one..

fine phone, it has no mms because email is the way to go..but australia being shitty as usual has no unlimited data plans...
