R34 GTT with 3" TB exhaust, 11psi and Bp Ultimate .. gets me 300Kms from 50l. I always fill her up when the empty light comes on which is with 15l left in the tank. So I guess FULL tank would be around 400Kms if I drove until completely empty.

All in all the economy seems to be 16l/100Kms which isn't too impressive but not too shabby considering 1) it's all city driving 2) I can't help my lead foot a lot of the times 3) it's a friggin sports car that I love driving

  • 1 month later...

Model: 1998 R34 25GT (non turbo) coupe 2dr (non of this 4 dr BS lol)

Tank: not to sure acctaully...but when the needle is just above the E and i fill her up with vortex 98 its around 55L

Driving style: the guilt usually gets to me so its a mix of granny and boy racer...

running around the hills district i get about 380-400 a tank but on the highway she is beautifull:) she will get about 550-600 out of the 55L tank :P

any other non-turbos in here?!?!

thought id put my stats here aswell,,,, used to get 250-300km/tank in a 96 r33 gtst series 2, with caltex vortex 98octane..... driving granny style

that was before with cat back exhaust and pod filter....

now got full 3 inch turbo back, highflow cat, apexi filter, new (falcon el) 02 sensor, carrying 60kg of car audio lol last week i did 400km and needle was just under the 1/4 mark. Only filled up for $65 instead of $75, got more km's and cost less to fill up so double bonus, i didnt drive it like a granny all the time either.... get a new 02 sensor, the falcon ones are only $70 and just twist the wires together and tape them up and it will save you money, i think it will pay for itself in a month.....

also this is city and suburb driving, no freeways, highways.....

just for an experiment, how far have people gone after the gauge has gone below the 'E' ????

im never game enough to try, but im geussing around 50k's?

Lol sounds like that seinfeld episode :P

I get about 300-350km around town. Taking her out on a big trip up to Cairns soon so ill see how good she is on the highway. Around town on and off boost constantly is a joke for fuel consumption.

Hiya David,

Probably 50-100Kms depending on how you drive it at its death. The computer on BMs can tell you how many Kms left in the tank tho' (to the nearest 20Km or so)

A Q for a Q mate.

So you rock up to a 24 Hr Servo late at night when a young naive attendant is on and doesn't know about the 5litre rule...

You're on "E" or below and you've got no $; but all the time in the world .

Step#1: You put in 2 cents

Step#2: You go to the attendant ready to pay to the nearest 5c

Step#3: Go back to Step#1 :)

Q: How long would it take to fill your tank?

I dont fill up my car, mainly because its a weekend car. I normally put $40/ BPU and i get around 160-180km, thats mainly city driving. It needs a service tho. I dont thrash it at all. Never hit the limiter or anywhere close.

R33 25t manual coupe.

~180-190rwkw a while back..

FMIC

Copper plugs

5psi boost(tap)

3inch exh leading to a 4inch catback and 5inch tip(no cats etc)

18inch 235's all round.

Because i am drunk and bored.......

Say current price of BP ultimate $1.60, therefore 2 cents gets you 0.032Litres

Say fuel tank takes 65L, therefore need to do the 2 cents thing 2031.25 times.

Say one time takes you 30 seconds to fill up, walk in, talk to attendent and walk out again to start again, therefore it takes 60937.5 seconds. Which is equal to 16.927 hours.

There is your answer.

You just wasted 5 minutes of my life.

Thanks.

I filled my tank up drove for 100K's and filled it back up again and it took 13.7 litres

I believe from what ive read that is the most accurate way of checking fuel consumption

My car is a R34 Gtt running 14psi boost FMIC and 3 turbo back exhaust and an auto

Holy crap that is not good lol. I have pretty much the same mods + a power fc.

Now I do a fair bit of highway driving amongst city driving (probably 50/50) and I get around 11L/100kms, I think lol

Last time I filled up it took 48 litres and I had done 440km so you go figure

LOL

Anyways,

Mine isn't a turbo, but then again yours don't have to be either

I fill mine up every night ass tuesday and each week I drive around 300km. Each week I usually fill up about 25-30L So around 10L/100

I use the original air filter box and changed 2x 2.5" mufflers - thats it :P

You weekend warriors - soft/not properly pumped tyres can chew your fuel

2/160 = 0.0125L...

It still amazes me how many people don't know how to work out l/100km. You fill up, reset the OD, drive... the more fuel you use the more accurate it will be, then fill up and record how many litres it takes. Just doing 100km after filling up increases errors associated with when the bowser clicks off.
