computer problems ...... please help!

i wasnt sure where to post this so sorry if its in da wrong place but coz uz are so good at comp art i thought u might know wat to do.

here's my prob

when i start my computer it makes all the usuall noises and sounds fine but my monitor wont turn on tis gettin power cause it has the lil orange light at the front. i try turnin it off then back on but the light goes green for bout 2 seconds then back to orange. any suggestions would be sweet or how much it would cost to get fixed.

Plug the video cable in to the PC? The monitor is not getting a signal from the PC which is why it is switching back to standby (orange).

But I guess you won't be able to read this answer. In fact, Im amazed you posted this without being able to read what you typed - you must be a hell of a touch typer!

Try re-seating your RAM.

Plug a spare monitor into the back of the pc and see if that works.

Try re-seating your video card.

Failing the above could be a faulty video card, ram, mainboard or monitor.

does the computer beep at you when you turn it on?if so its probably your ram.mine was doing this an hour ago & it turned out to be my ram module had come loose.see how you go.

ryan im useing my mums laptop (smart ass). but i found the prob its a bogus moniter.
