brb- off to Styx Valley Rally.

ok so I know it's not Tarmac, but it should be a bit of fun.

I'm joining Timmy in Tassie this weekend for the first round of the Tasmanian Rally Series.

Jumping into a little Mitubishi Cyborg with Aaron Reader - should be lotsa of fun.

Now can you Tasmanians organise some decent weather for me please?

...and Stu - how are entries looking for HC?

I heard a rumour on the weekend that the event was way overscribed and a waiting list had been create?

we finally got our slack arses into gear last week and sent Helen our entry- hope we haven't missed out?!

Scotty - THC website will be launched on the 15th and turns out my email has a technical issue sending out... will be fixed this arvo and demon deal pricing included!

Kel - Lots of people are coming to play and plan is to accomodate as many as possible

WooStar - Dont be like that gorgeous, just playin!

Well from what I see it is looking like a few showers, but the amount of rain is looking low. Anything has to be better than what we had last year!

Stu,

knowing all of those roads quite well you've picked the cream of the roads in the area. I had no doubt the Whitfield Rd especially the section under the power lines would be used, but will it be in both directions?

Just a question on the Eildon-Jamieson Rd as well, did you have to put much pressure on the Shire to seal that rd? Once sealed it will be beome quite a popular rd for people wanting an alternative route to-from Buller. Also what surface are they planning? Spray seal?

Looking forward to this ;)

I'm putting plans into motion to spend a few weekends down that way for recce ;)

Would be good if everyone makes public their travel plans in the Garden state for same and we may all be able to spend some happy recce times together!

Oh how I do like a good recce fossic ;)

Yeah Dan, both ways! Mansfield Whitfield Road will be split into three stages each way.

Re Eildon Jamieson Road, the shires had plans to seal and this has simply been bought forward. It will be in final prep as roadbase ready for sealing at THC so we will simply transport over it, but will be in good condition as sealing is due to take place in the week(s) after the event... hopefully with a year to cure it will make it one of the best targa stages to be found. The surface will be better than simple spray and rock speard which has pretty short life, expect to see something much the seal at the Jamieson end which is next up from spray.

Cage sounds like a good idea Jeff... you just can't trust those Queenslanders!... but if you can lend me the key that would be great, I'll be over Thursday to do the roadbook! Just leave the key under a pot plant if you like!

I think you might be a bit more trustworthy than Ben
