.... If you need 2L AWD then go R32 GTS-4 baby but seriously...

One of the guys down here ran one - and its not a bad thing. Building one from the ground up would be better again as he bought his as a going concern.

The boys over here dont seem to be hearing the "Its been done..." M8

TT

Is that the one dressed up in Gibson-esque colours? It was a nice thing when I was looking at it. But when you see EVO6s for 8k as race only imports...from a performance standpoint the lil GTS-4 does not really stand up :(

But, if you shoot me an email addy Greg, I would be interested to know if there is any competition history for the car I am considering.

Yeah he had a very similar paint job to mine, you can't argue with his times though.... But his tyres were shagged at Targa fest.

You know there is another gtst for sale down here roy?

I only know of the two on my105...

I like the idea of classic as the variety of cars are more interesting and a fun rwd car does not have to worry about the army of awd hypo cars so from time to time there could be a few cars that you can get close to. There is a prepped and caged shell and a cheap registered runner to turn into one car for a decent enough dollar. It will be COOL!

Bodge is prepping up Rob Sherrard's RS200 for next year.

There's talk of 650 plus Hp all within rules.

Ummmmm, fark yes! :D

I'd rather a Subaru Leone than an Escort Cossie though :P Mainly because I could afford to fix all the shit that goes wrong on the Pommie crap.

And yes, my vag is tender.

just throwing this out there for the classic interest ( im not a huge follower of clasic) doesnt some voltswagen win every year?

how about a DR30 with FJ20 turbo?

they have IRS, turbo, cult following.

i know of a good 2 door shell in tassie and also of an original rs 4 door with original fj20.

Timmys had less than 6 months around EVOs and hes oviously been brain washed with all the coding he talks of AYC ABS STI rubbish. someone needs to take him for a ride in a nissan and show him what lifes about.

You could go to town on a DR30 since it's now under the classic rules. You could get a proper rear end designed for it, redesign the front end while keeping the struts. You have to use a turbo from the same eara as the car, so you could run a trust truck turbo. Stroke it to 2.2. Carbon fibre panels. They have a modern style ecu, so you could put a good computer in it.

Wouldn't make a bad jigger

A DR30, particular one of the ones with the big factory turbo would be a bit of a weapon, the man to talk to about DR30's on here is Discopotato.. he knows things, talked me out of wanting to build one LOL.

Well there goes that, was pretty obvious really. I have spent a good two weeks finding two cars to buy, one with a fully prepped shell and cage...and a DR30 is what I am looking at. May head up this weekend to look at the caged shell. 2.2L with a 5 speed dog box and with a friend who has a Gibson R31 and the pipeline of support on how to make a DR30 go :) Old school rwd goodness may be a Goer. ... :) Big thing is if the numbers add up need to consider what I could get if I sold it, as for me a lot of the fun woudl be building it...not sure if i can handle the logisitics and expense of tarmac rallies...so moving the car for not much of a loss if the sport is not for me is another consideration ?!?!?

The other thing i was looking at was a Nismo 270R as i can get a good running aus delivered car for a song to be used as the base. But S14 isnt as interesting as a DR30 :)

Well that makes two of us as I would kill for one of these Pommie Pieces of CRAP!

[pics above]

Sheesh, no love for the Royal Wedding or white trash Bristol Spec performance cars :(

A partner in the Rally Safe ting with YT has one as does his M8... one a repsol copy, the other Ford factory colours - look very ipressive...

Yeah a Z-Tune works for Outright Snowy.

Ok now we are talking :)

That could be some fun with an extra 100kw's or so. Then the car will also be in Pikes Peak spec as well.

Might have to go have a chat with the boss today and work out some numbers.

    • Define "Nissan big brakes". You just mean standard R34 4 pots? And...it's not even the offset you need to worry about. It's really a detail of how much clearance there is between the caliper and the back of the spoke/face, which is affected more by the design of the spoke than it is by the offset. If you think about it....take any wheel, say a 19x8 that does fit and clears the caliper. Then add or subtract an inch of wheel on the outside, without changing anything else. You have changed the offset by half an inch, but not changed the clearance situation at all. Same for if you add or subtract an inch from the inside edge. The way for you to work this out is to take a wheel off the car, grab a straight edge and a ruler or two, and start to measure the distances from the wheel mounting face on the hub to the outer face of the caliper, and the outer diameter (that faces the barrel of the wheel) of the caliper. Armed with these dimensions and any other measurement that grabs your fancy while you are there, you can then go to the seller of the wheels and do the reverse measurements from the wheel's mounting face and see if there will be clearance to the caliper. There really should be. I have 17x8 RPF1s +35 clearing the caliper face by a finger tip. Those wheels do have pretty thin spokes with some curvature.... but then so do most wheels to suit Jap cars.
    • So I’ve got a r34 sedan that I managed to get green stickered, meaning I need to go through government approved wof station for my car to be allowed back on the road for some reason my car is certed for 19x8 rims.. I need these wheels  does anyone know what offset will be fine to clear Nissan big brakes? I saw 35et for sale near me, I can’t drive the car to test fit or risk being fined ..   I searched heaps online couldn’t find anywhere..
