Also similar damage and accident to our R33 in Targa 2009 on Strahan, although different cause. That looked pretty violent! We had winged seats and I am sure they saved us any real injury.

Our car didn't look that bad either, even when we got it home and took off all the damaged panels. The car sat under the house for about 6 months while we procrastinated about what to do. The more we looked the more damage we found though. A little crease here, a stretch on the seam there. Eventually decided to reshell (albeit into an R32) and very happy with the outcome.

The guy who took the damaged shell found so many more stress marks/fractures/creases in places we would have never looked, it confirmed the reshell decision as correct. The cost of repair vs reshell was similar for us too, although being an R34 this may be different for you. Choose with your head not your heart when it comes to repairs, although that's alot easier said than done...

Heard visibility was on the ordinary side of things for most of the event, would have to think MM would struggle to hold an event with such small numbers?

Apparently there was 11 entrants - but one was ineligible.

Anyways - I think they HAD to run this one to show they were committed regardless of numbers. They had cancelled their last few and there were plenty of stories going around that this was going to follow the same path. So I'm glad it did go ahead and I hope they stick around in 2012 and get more numbers.

Options are always nice - especially since these events are far more accessible than Tassie as a rule (at least they are for us Mexicans). I might have to try and make the Baw Baw event in Feb.

But I must say - if the weather up there on Sat was anything like what is was in Melb then it wouldn't have been much fun!

Weather was horrible at the Alpine as well. We lost both our cars, one ate a tree and the other went head first roll over into a gorge >_< Damage was freakishly small for the roll over (thanks to the soft brush it went into) but the tree eater will need some work/time. :)

Which cars were you working on Roy?

Did you see the tassie boys in the Dirty 30 (R30 Skyline?)

Yeh, the 4 door? I was the drunk out front of their place at 11pm Sunday night. :) I was looking it over when they saw me from their living room and one of them came out and chatted. They had a gearbox problem but got it all sorted and finished the event.

Unfortunately Tim had an issue with brake pedal which put him out Sunday morning. I was hoping he could give the EVO's a run. Two cars (EVO and WRX) went off on the very first run at the same spot, Arnolds bend, with the WRX retiring with body damage. That run did not count in any case as it was supposed to be an acclimatization run!

Yes Blaise, turnout poor, weather even poorer, but total satisfaction re organization and delivery of event. Well done to Peter and Tim of Mountain motorsports.

Yep, hear you Serge. I hope they get the support at future events as its always nice to have choice. Would be a great option if i was a little closer. :) I guess the challenging conditions make it more of a test. Had meant to ask if anyone from here made it up there.

Ouchy wah wah!!!!

Not sure if I could think of anything more embarrassing! :(
