what thickness piping are you using? and are you using stainless steel?

1.6mm 304 stainless is wat i generally use however on that the 2inch(hot) side of that piping is 316 due to supplier having no 304(luckily he did them for same price) and the 2.5 side(cold) is 304

i use the same stuff for all the work i di weather it be intake pipes, intercooler pipes, exhaust systems(except manifolds i'll use steam pipe when i have someone want me to amke one)

Looks good Wazz, certainly a whole lot better than the original set up :D

What are your thought for changing the piping routing like you do, is it purely for ease of set up or have you found gains/ease of use that way???

Cheers Ben

thanks dude

in the one skyline ive driven hard that ive changed from normal way to reverse it felt as there was a small gain.. the rest of them havent had aftermarket fmics on them before ive done the piping except for this silvia.. however im licenseless and its unregistered.. so i havent driven it except up the driveway to were it sits now

my theory is it gives the hot air a better chance of cooling down before it reaches the intercooler with the longer pipe and as for the cold air coming out of the intercooler its a shorter pipe so it has less chance of heat soaking as much not to mention running a pipe with supposely cool air straight across the farken radiator is bloody stupid.. its basically just common sense

I've had a couple of 32's and done the piping the conventional way and also the under/around set up but never really noticed any performance gains to warrant the extra piping length of the later.

Like you said you dont get the hot air like you do with the piping sitting in front of the motor with the conventional way but i've never had engine temps that extreme to justify it. So with that said im lazy and if i can buy a pre made kit cheaper than i can do it myself that only requires minimal tweaking i'll take it everytime :D

the length of the piping is the same regardless of which was you run it.. think about it with the standard setup with the alloy elbow the inlet of the elbow and outlet of the turbo are on top of each other

Might be with that set up for the silv but its not for a 32, i know for a fact cause we measured it up

Not only that but with the under/under route you actually add additional bends into the equations as well. Hindering to performance??? Some say so but like i said above i've run the piping 3 ways on my 32's and never seen or gained any improvement for overall airflow.

looks aight, but what a waste on such a p.o.s

Nice attitude! So maybe the car in the photos doesn't suit your taste, so what? What's not to say that this car is the owner's pride and joy? Or maybe it's a drift pig,or the owner wants the car to have an element of surprise, so looks are less important. Remember what (I hope) your parents taught you: If you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all...

If it was a joke, adding a smilie or "LOL" to your comment would go a long way to putting your point across - it's not as if other forum users can see you face-to-face and read your body language or facial expressions. Please take this into account in the future. Any more negative comments like this and warnings will be handed out.

omg, no need to get on your high horse, wasn't a joke. piping = good, car = rough imo, if that's the look the owner is going for. good for him. he's achieved it. you don't like my oppinion, you shouldn't be on a forum, give me a warning? wow. i find it amazing how 99% of people can say whatever they please, tell people to f**k off, get away with ripping people of etc, but i say the same, and i automatically get in the shit everytime, for whatever reason i'm always singled out, and i'm f**kin sick to death of it.

wat you said was uncalled for.. if your goin to be a wanker you can just piss off and stay out of my threads

its not my car and if it was i'd be highly offended by wat you've said. the cars a work in progress just cause its not your cup of tea doesnt give you the right to bag the shit out of it.

u get singled out coz ur post count is so low ^ everyone has to deal with it at some point, that said, cant even really see enough of the car? only looks a bit dirty under the bonnet with the original piping on, and the cuts in the front bar. even still, drift cops ftw!

    • Howdy all,   I had my rb25det S2 rebuilt and finally started it today but have run into a few issues  Engine sounds like a a diesel easiest way to summarise like small ticking, gets louder when revs are slightly adjusted  The engine builder repainted the engine cover leaving no where for me to go off with lining up the CAS so have it as central as possible so not sure it that could be affecting it?, changed the gearbox fluid too but won’t seem to go into gear when running, and only 1 to 4 when off having a hard time finding 5th and reverse anyone got any ideas or a base for me to start off? much appreciated
    • Well, no. It's an 023, which is pretty similar to an 040. Although it is hard to tell from the specs, as given.
    • Hmm. Maybe the (other thing I forgot about!) Haltech removes at least some, if not all, of the problem I described. I guess there is still the possibility of getting it wrong if the AC is set up/wired up for the Haltech as if it was in an R34 (simply because it's on a Neo), and that's playing foul with the R32 AC computer.
