Hi

I have heard recently there will be extra police presence around service station establishments in the south eastern suburbs due to excess drive offs and unregistered vehicles in the area

Service stations around Dandenong, Hallam, Endeavour Hills, Narre Warren and a few other neighbouring suburbs will have extra police, mostly undercover cars patrolling service stations

It was due to start on the 14th of July and I have already seen a few hanging around near the exits of service stations in my area

Just a heads up for everyone

Thanks

Really nice to know i spose that narre was on the top 5 list for hooning

Not Hooning in Nazza Wazza...... Drive offs from petrol stations..... Sharron in her VK commo wagon with her mockies would rather buy a carton of smokes tahn pay for petrol....

happend to me at shell on corner of springvale and whitehorse road.. cop came in, watching me fill up and go and pay... then tried to give me a fine cuz my car was too high powered for a P plater.... I got out of it cuz mines heavier ... GTS4 ftw!!! :D

Great. So is the "hanging around petrol stations" operation a temporary thing or what? I did notice a few more cops on the roads last night then normal.

But then...what's normal?

I was gonna fill up after the meet tonight as well...screw that. I'm gonna fill up in the city instead...

Good ol narre is also the target for hightened police activity in relation to it being in the top 3 for cars seized due to 'hooning'. The operation is running over the periond of 1 month.

What were the top 2?

I went to the casino last night and did notice a lot more cops than normal, normaly see 1 or 2 but saw 6 or 7 last night, half of those had someone pulled over.

Did you just tell them its heavier and they accepted it? or did you need to show some proof etc.

As its the police word over yours if they believe the car is over powered.. :D

I've started to see and hear about some strange cars as unmarked cars. I saw a white VT Commodore (I think that's around the right model, looks right) that pulled over a car. Wasn't nice and shiny like you may expect, was kind of muddy etc.

My sister said she saw a Toyota Kluger too.

I'd say you were lucky more than anything. If it was a TMU guy he'd know A) gts4 would be fine, as it's a non-turbo, and B) to book you for running a modified engine if it's the turbo conv in his sig.

Mate I have nightmares about the TMU.... I am so sh*t scared... I could not afford all the issues...

Yeh we argued for a while..... cuz on his little shitty specs sheet of cars he likes to pick up it didn't have a GTS4... and up until recently I never thought there existed a standard R33 GTS4 turbo model.... but then I was at autobarn the other day and started talking to one of the guys.... turns out when he used to live in NZ he owned one....never ever seen one here...

so he didn't know what to do... so I told him, why don't you take the power from a standard gtst and use the weight of a gtr.... he didn't even know how to do the equation! so i did that for him aswell! turns out according to those numbers the car was legal ( i know it was bs...)

he took down my details and said he would call me if he went back to the station and looked up the specs of my car and saw that I was lying.... I told him its a really rare skyline and you wont find the details......

I never heard back from him :D:D:D:D:D

If I was you, I'd disconnect all your phones or else 3 points + $1100 fine if he calls you back

    • Definitely didn't put a N/A cluster in instead? The speed sensor (location) is different in both cars.... I think. This will obviously stuff things up.
    • Nah not the throwout bearing, it's something internal. I already replaced the throwout bearing. Mechanic misdiagnosed my car and thought it was a spigot bearing, went to another bloke who said it was an input shaft bearing. (I replaced everything when I pulled out the gearbox but didn't open up the gearbox.   In this video at timestamp 6:05 : Mine has the same sound  min
    • It is definitely to space it out and away for clearance during compression, and possibly for spring clearance to upper arm. That latter would only be true for springs that are same-ish diameter to stockers, and so that probably doesn't apply to Teins or most other coilovers.
    • Yeah, a mechanic who knows these cars told me even if I get a brand new gearbox the noise will return but will be less noticeable. I've heard someone also they this noise came back after 3,000km on a new or reconditioned gearbox. It is pretty f**king annoying though just hearing groaning most of the time lol. I wonder if an aftermarket input shaft bearing would fix the problem or how they are built.
    • All RB gearbags, especially the big turbo box, have rollover noise. Mine certainly does. Always has. Sometimes is worse than others - no particular idea why, although it is probably temperature related. I have smurf jizz in mine and have had to have it in there from the first day the box went into teh car. It simply would not select gears with the engine on, on day one, with normal oil in there. And so, the blue stuff has probably ruined almost everything synchro related in the box. But it has taken 12 or 13 years to get to the point where I simply must replace the box. It has become increasingly baulky of late, which might be symptomatic of the way I've been driving it, as much as anything. I shall have to make some corrections when teh new box goes in. Input shaft bearing noise will decrease with clutch pedal pressed because the drive is removed. But yes, more often than not noises that work like that are associated with the throwout. It won't matter either way, new box will mean this one can be relegated to the parts pile.
