anyhow, if someone in aus, that has a prepaid still in term and is willing to lend it for 3weeks from begining of august, shoot me a pm.. willing to pay a fee for use as well..

you still can get prepaids I believe in Japan! search the net.. i just did theres lots of different sites..

I also believe you can organise this at the airport

If you're after a keitai for 3 weeks, either rent one @ the airport, or get one from softbank (Previously Vodafone, Pre-previously something or other..) at the Conbini.. They'll set you back 10,000 yen from the Conbini with 3000 yen worth of credit i believe. Most decent family marts should have them.

yeah, renting at the airport is the way to go. JAL ABC rentals. get the local call only one as the calls within japan will be much cheaper than the one that can call OS, and you can still receive international calls, just can't make any outgoing ones. I had a Tuka pre-paid too and it is quite a bit more exxy even for local calls. The only advantage was I could keep the same number from year to year.

i rented one from gomobile. cost me about $70 for the 3 weeks. was at my hotel when i arrived and you just put it in a supplied postbag when your finished

Heaps of the punters coming to niseko use the gomobile or rent from the airport..plenty of options around.

yeah.. i was naughty a few years back and dont want to give my details to soft/voda/jphone

was just hoping someone had a current prepaid that is in aus and not using it.. just an idea.

i will go the rental at the airport though if I have no luck
