anyone in sydney on the list who would like to pickup display (from blacktown) on the weekend (if one is ready for you) send me a PM with your mobile/phone number (and optionally your home address) and mention youd like to pickup if its available on weekend, and supply rough time you would be available over weekend.

yep you're down for blue screen. everyone on the list has been contacted now for payment (and i think ive notified everyone who's been removed from the list after i didnt get any response from them in previous pm's). over 30 have been sent already (took two big bags down to postbox today)

yes it will. there is a ticket open on the feature/bug tracker to add ability to save the trip statistics. it would probably be a third screen (so 2 trip ones, one showing current trip, and one showing all trips) that shows your total recorded trips.

reason why it hasnt been done yet is that trip data would need to be saved to EEPROM, which only can be written to a limited number of times, and the display doesnt know when you will turn off the car. so need to do some tricky wear levelling to spread the writes to EEPROM out over the fully spare eeprom, and to only update the trip data every say 30s.

but yeh i really want this feature myself too so will try to get it done when this first batch is sold and i have time to work on it.

Got mine today as well many thanks.

did realise you were part of group buy, so ive refunded the difference between individual website price and that for the group buy (and updated your details on list to show youre from sau)

Oh ok, thanks. I was just happy to receive it didn't even question the price :)

fyi a user just found that 0-160 and 400m time trials are mixed up (so to do 400m u need to choose 0-160) this will be fixed in 2.01 firmware probably within the week

skylines (r32 at least, not sure about r33/r34) are lucky they have that little dip on top of the center console, good mounting position!

by now everyone who has expressed interest (up until and including 23/8, ie sat night) has been contacted for payment etc. contact me if you thought you had but i havent pm'ed you. anyone else after one will get payment details etc immediately until the rest of this batch is gone. have sent out around half of them so far (a bit under 50)

I installed my display this weekend - I've found the visibility of the blue screen to be perfectly fine for daytime driving but only without sunglasses - still better than I expected.

Thanks NewKleer!

    • Just a follow-up on this topic. From what I can tell so far the rusty residue on the engine block might be unrelated to a coolant leak or maybe just older than anticipated. After driving it from the winter garage to my friend's garage I could not see any new traces of coolant leaking there, but I will test this properly once I was able to fully warm up the car and drive it for a bit. I think I can agree that the whole porous engine block stuff is kind of nonsense, but there is just a silly amount of true, false and half-true information on anything Skyline-related on the internet.
    • hrmmm , not mine , easter plans to pull engine not happening
    • I removed the IACV, cleaned it and reinstalled.  I found a video on youtube that helped with the whole process, the guy then said the idle needed to be set, so the process was to get the vehicle up to operating temperature, unplug the TPS, set the idle screw in the IACV so the RPMs were around 600, then plug the TPS back in.  After I reinstalled the IACV, the car started (because, it was a cold start), once it warmed up, the car died, I adjusted the idle screw to see if that helped anything, it did not, I had to wait about 3-5 minutes, then the car would start back up. Only to shortly cut out, and only crank.  I loosened the TPS to see if adjusting that would do anything, and when I would rotate the sensor clockwise, there was a humming noise, but it would go away when I got the sensor in the horizontal position.  It only made the hum noise with the key on.  What do you guys think? 20250414_172604.mp4
    • Quick update.  The engine grounding strap was replaced, the engine is now happily running.  Tested the voltage drop before replacing the strap, was about 1.2ish volts down between engine to battery, chassis to battery. With the new grounding strap, pretty much no voltage drop at all.
