I did my last long distance training session last weekend. My team rode from Castle Hill to Springwood and back. I needed some big hill practice. Held a good 33km average so I was happy with that. Kept up with the rest of the team on racers, so my preperation is all done. I will ride to work and back a few more times before the day but I should be ready to do some damage on the day.

Wow - what a day! absolute pearler.

Got to sleep around 11pm, woke up at 4am chucked the bike in the back of the truck, picked my mate up, drove to Olympic Park, caught a train to North Sydney and met up with some other mates.

Started North Sydney Oval, and rode the North Sydney route back to Olympic Park.

55km in total. Including the ride from the traino to the start line and the extra lap we did at OP.

Awesome wind up for the big one. I'm pretty sore, and was supposed to go for a ride tomorrow but don't think I will.

So an update for the Sydney to Gong........

Our team has raised just shy of $6000!

it's now got 14 members and there has been nearly $700,000 so far in total!

I'm getting pretty pumped!

i did the pring cycle yesterday. The whether was fantastic. Its my first time i've ever done something like this and i enjoyed it so much.

I woke up at about 630. Rode to blacktown softball centre and then started at about 730. Did the 45kms in 2 and a half hours and i was just crusing along.

Caught the train to blacktown station and then rode home to woodcroft from there. I'm not even sore today which im very happy about

OK So here it is.........the last week leading into the big ride!!!!

With nearl $8000 raised by our team (22nd Highest out of over 600 teams) and more than $1MILLION!!!!!! raised in total it's going to be a bumper year!

Thanks so much to every who has donated already - to those who haven't dig deep and help us help others with MS!!!!

I really want to hit $10K!

I am getting excited!

Weather forecast......

Sydney - Sunday Chance shower.

City: Min: 16 Max: 24

Gong - Forecast for Sunday

Isolated showers. North to northeast winds.

Wollongong : Chance shower. Min: 16 Max: 21

I can deal with teh rain - thank fark there are going ot be northerlys coming through! I'll need that boost up the hills.

It was an ok ride, spent 40 min at the start line before we got off the mark, and the first 30-45 min was at super slow pace. Total ride time was about 4hr 10min with 50-60 min break at Stanwell tops due to an accident which stopped the course. We lost my mates dad, his bike was unridable after a low speed crash.

My mates on their racers just missed the 3hr mark with 3.05 without stops, I was 3 min behind with 3.08, the 1hr stop distroyed my legs and the last 10km really hurt.

Thanks everyone!

Yeah first bit was super slow as it was to congested to even ride.

Half our group (guys on racers) took off around the pack and cut back in where everyone started riding.

We cruised along and took around 4.5hrs (not including about 30mins of stops).

Great weather for the ride, with a slight NE breeze.

Had a great day and will definately be returning with Amanda's Team again next year. The support was awesome from you all and greatly appreciated!

Nothing major in our team with only one guy getting a flat.

THANKS SO MUCH!

    • Do Alan and Keith work on Skylines now? I remember buying stuff from them when I owned my Ralliart Lancer a few moons ago. Definitely genuine guys and be excellent if they dealt with the skyline platform as well.
    • Hey all, I'm Gaston from Sydney's West.  I was a member on here when I was a younger lad and owned a mint R33 GTS-T. Ended up selling it and getting married having kids (yadda yadda) we all know how the story goes. Now I'm back with the intention to get my midlife crisis (dream) car ... a R35 GTR.  You'll see me about asking questions and searching the forums. Good to be back and can't wait to get back an Import again.
    • I have to put something here in order to post the photos. From what I could gather there's more enthusiasm for modified cars now than there has been for years. There were probably more younger people there than older (me included lol) which was a good sign.  It did seem like the record least amount of representation of the 90's era hero cars on display though. Like maybe one or two examples of S-chassis Nissans, and maybe 3 or 4 R-chassis. By comparison there were a lot of Civics from that era but in all there were about 10 - 12 EG/EK Civic Type R.  Euro exotics are always there in large numbers, led by Liberty Walk...... say what you will about kids using markers to scribble on a Ferrari F40, it did seem like a stunt to infuriate Ferrari enthusiasts, or Ferrari itself. I wonder if there's something more to it. Either way LBWK have done some heinous things to a Lamborghini Miura this time. They should stop now.
    • Engines and drivelines are not war stoppers for me mate, busted arse bodies and un-obtainium parts and panels are though Both cheap Brumbies I looked at had trashed tubs and a fair bit of rust
    • Stock O2 sensors are narrowband. They're useless once you're away from stoich. IE, useless for what you're trying to do. 10:1 will read the same as 14:1 from the stock O2 sensors. That is, they'll read rich. The same level of rich.
