you need to take the seats out, the is 2 bolts betwwen the seats towards the sides of the car, then slide out the parcel tray (flimsy 4mm stuff, then unscrew the stock speakers!! should be able to put 6" straight back in no worries!!!

simple job -- take a while though!!!!

or get some bass with 6X9's on custom MDF parcel tray :D

sounds pretty good with it done like this!!!!

You might find that it's the speakers and not the parcel shelf doing the vibrating - for some reason the rubber surrounds around the speakers deteriorate so quickly in Japan...

When I pulled mine out, there was nothing left of the surrounds, the cones were just free to buzz around as much as they wanted. New speakers - much better!

ive just put in rear speakers...pioneer 2 ways 150w..

rattles even more now and i need amps now cause with powerful jbls in front and pioneers in back, they distort quick...

after alot of yanking and bleeding hands, managed to put in e new speakers and the old clarions were on the verge of extinction and ancientness...

they were made of frikin paper man around the tweeters.

wierd...

odd design. anyone taken em out shud haf seen em.

any idea why such an odd design altho sounding good when new?

stop your parcel shelf rattling by adding sound deadener to them if theyre metal parts, or putting a thicker parcel shelf would help (ie. 18mm mdf) and bolting that down to the metal.

if its the shelf rattling (metal) just add weight to it, if its the parcel shelf on top, u can check bits of foam in between the small wood and metal too.

good luck
