Pioneer Troubles

Hi guys,

i bought a pioneer head unit recently (DEH-P6050UB) and was installing it today but i cant figure out where i connect the power antenna cable to on the head unit?

any help would be appreciated

have you got the wiring diagram that comes with the head unit? i just googled your head unit and it seems as though the power antenna cable is BLUE. im pretty certain it was the same colour also for my Alpine unit that i just installed - it was labelled on the wire too which was nice and convenient..

connect that up to the GREEN/RED wire on your car's wiring loom.

Hi,

Since i have a R33 i didn't want my antenna sticking up all the time (i think it looks kinda odd) so i just left the power antenna wire unconnected and it seems to be picking up the radio fine for the moment *fingers crossed*

ahk fair enough... just play cds the sound quality through the radio is rubbish!!

Or you could buy an aeropro nissan -> pioneer adapter. Theyre about 15 dollars. I used one of those when I installed my alpine into my car. Saves you a big headf**k.

My pioneer Head unit (Double DIN DVD Screen) didnt have a wire for the anteena. On the wiring diagram it used the amp power on wire as the same for the anteena one so that means the anteena would be up all the time as long as the unit was on. I just left it off, later i connected it through a switch so i could control when the anteena went up and down but i dont have a problem picking up radio without the anteena up

i got a pioneer 5050UB and i didnt connect up the power wire for the antenna cuz i didnt know where lol. Prefer to leave the antenna down then have it sitting up. Picks up radio stations fine.

I just bought a DEH-80RS and was getting the 5h1ts with the aerial being up all the time. SAU FTW! I'll just disconnect it altogether and hope the radio signal is OK.
