took my car in for a tune, the lowest i can set the boost was 19psi :S

im running a hks2535.. n im chasing around 16psi...

what would be the best option for internal wastegates? would a stock rb25 wastegate work or will i have to go aftermarket?

id love to go external gate but right now its to expensive for me, student life sucks =(

What dump pipe are you running on the 2535? Had that problem with a generic split dump at forst on my 2535 as the wastegate flap was fouling the dump and not opening properly...another possible cause is a sticky/lazy wastegate spring...and yes...check the obvious by adjusting the wastegate rod...this will allow you to check if the flap is fouling as well...

but i would have thought aftermarket dump = more boost?

It does give you the potential to make more boost as it should be larger and flow better. The wastegate controls boost by bypassing exhaust gases around the turbine. If the wastgate flap fouls on the standard dump pipe it may not open far enough to bypass enough gas. If the gases can't go around the turbine they have to go through and it will just produce more boost.

DjeMz, did you end up sorting this boost issue? I'm running a GT-RS with the same issue but I have a 3" bellmouth dump already. Adjusting the preload didn't help..

When the car got tuned what did the boost pressure graph look like? What power did it make?

EDIT: Just found your thread so ill post in there.

    • Evening fam, Pretty much what the title asks, I have looked all over and can’t find a proper answer expect one post from almost a decade ago which is vague. ive seen photos and they look pretty much identical, would an r33 GTR N1 reo work on an r32? reason I ask is they are cheaper to buy… $700 compared to 1k+ for an r32 n1 reo

    • Yeah was thinking that. I've had the car go lower idle possibly around 650rpm every once in a long time after pouring fuel and would sound quite rough like a misfire, almost like it's shit fuel or something but who knows.

Great event last year and hoping for the same this year.    I've emailed them to ask to set a location aside for the Stageas for the show and shine - they are happy to do so if we can get them numbers, I'm happy to keep track of that. Entering as Nismo category.    I'll be road tripping up from Melbourne, would be cool to convey if people are interested, maybe there is SAU convoys from each capital? If you have ideas about that let me know.    https://gtrfestival.com.au
