Changing An R33 Rhs Park Globe

Hi guys n gals,

Is there an easy way of changing the globe? Its in the weirdest position ever! Neither my mechanic and myself could get out hands in there to get the plug out. Is there an easier way of changing the globe without taking out the coolant tank, the windscreen washer tank and loosening the fuse box?

there's no easy way

take the mounting bolts out of the washer tank, and move it as far to the side as you can.

grab a pair of long nose pliers ( i think i used angled ones) and get ready to strip some skin off your hand.

you can reach the bulb holder with the pliers and twist and pull it out. it takes a while, but saves you taking out the fuse box and overflow tank.

get your gf or someone with small hands to go at it. im surprised you didnt try losening the washer tank to get at it either. no need to touch anything else.

Just take the whole headlight assembly out thats what i did!....my front bar was already off though so wasnt much effort

remove washer reservoir and undo the parker globe mount with needle nose pliers. no need to remove skin once you've got it sussed.

it is soo much easier on series 2's when trying to put it back in. you can stick a finger in from the top and help twist it round. odd that this thread started cos i was just replacing a mate of mine's bout five min ago

I take out the washer bottle, and losen off the fuse box... Might as well make it as easy as possible

But yeah, it's shit...

Thanx for the tips guys......... taking out the windscreen washer bottle and loosening the fuse box worked a charm
