cars are a hobby not an investment.. well some cars that have letter like GTHO or HQ might well be good investments.. but our car's aren't.

I doubt you were looking to get the money you spent on it back.

You will lose money on it no doubt.

but you will make more money in total by taking the car back to stokish and selling the parts off.

I'd say looking at those pics there is probably a few thousands worth of stereo which you would make in selling it all compeltely seperate (not as a package)

the motor (stick the stocker turbo's back on) would sell for $3K ish or so (is it R32 or R33 rb26?)

the turbo kit you could almost make back what you paid for it.

those wheels would sell quickly at boostcruising or fastfours or hot4s no doubt.

etc etc..

4 door series 1 skyrine with manual and RB25 back in there in that colour might sell for about $10K

then with the sale of your ECU and all other bits, you'd have closer to $20K then you're ever going to see from this car sold as is.

thanks for the replies. truth be told my reasoning for wanting to sell is to buy something a lot more simple and spend the coin making it go, but since everyone feels im better off parting it out i might aswell sell off the stereo keep the car and work the engine.

I wouldnt mind entering it in one show before i rid myself of it or strip it back, not to win but just so ive done it. might look at auto salon, brisbane.

Yeah look, Ill be honest, I dont like the car much - not at all to have a dig at you, simply personal opinion.

With chrome rims and a very loud colour like that one, you limit the market of who might be interested in the car quite a lot.

You might well get extremely lucky and find someone with just the same taste as you who will love the car as it is - but unfortunately, chances are most prospective buyers either wont want a car that looks just like yours, or will want to do it themselves.

Best bet is definitely to part it out and sell it closer to stock. Will make most likely a little more money, and it will actually sell quicker that way Id say.

Good luck mate!!

    • All I can say Duncan is good luck and I hope that Neil did not run any E85 in Cheryl. I have recently experienced the full spectrum of fuel tank issues in my R33's that had been caused by E85 and contaminated fuel. When you take the cover off the top of the tank and have a look inside you will get an understanding of how easy it will be. Best case situation is clean fuel with minimal contamination. My GTR was like this and it was a very simple operation to just grab the fuel pump carrier bracket and slide it up and out of the tank. My three GTS_T's had different levels of fuel contamination that was probably caused by E85 in the fuel.  In the worst case all of the metal components in the tank had rusted to the point where there were pieces of rusted metal swirling around in the tank. This required the removal of the exhaust, the tailshaft, the complete rear cradle and the fuel tank. The components in the tank were that rusted that it took days to get the fuel pump carrier and the mounting brackets out of the tank. When the tank was finally cleaned, everything inside the tank had to be replaced. With the tank all back together I could then reinstall it in the car along with everything else that had to come out. Good luck and I hope that you find a clean tank.
    • It is a two door. It is black and also still has the OEM wheels and stereo. Exact model would be KR_R32RGFEL_SS According to GTR-Registry.com is a 2 Door Coupe; RB20DE; 2WD no HICAS; MT.F5; (11L) Projector Headlamps and Fog Lights; (12_) Electronic Active Full Auto Air Con (Climate Control); (13-14SS) V Selection -- Which seems to be accurate description of my variant. Will try to upload a few pictures soon. The OEM wheels look like the below image. Image is taken from the goo-net-exchange website.

    • Welcome Gabriel. At least your car has a glorious RB and not the shitty CA18. As MBS206 mentioned all the good bits can be added later. Two doors or four?
    • And half of them have been converted to turbos.
