Daaaamn. You're lucky to have seen that Z-Tune in the flesh. Won't be in Aus for much longer, so I hear? I'd rather check that thing out in person than an R35.

I've seen it a couple of times now.. It's a beautiful and Chris seems very happy with it.

noice, Dave did a 1.10 in the nur - I was a bit worried when I only say 1:13's from it! :D

Dave did well.. He did a 1.13 with 4 people in the car.. HAHA

oh is that Drew out there!?!?

Any other SAUers?

Drew, Nick & Steveo

looks like a top day out. :) powerplay do always get a nice turnout for their track days. :)

well done neil. 1:06 is not bad. now mate just find that right hand peddle and get your thing down to the 1min mark... :P

and I don't care what the times say, easto is still massively camp. last time he came to the RSl he was all dolled up like he was going to the opera. no wonder him and fatz are good buddies. riaa.gif

Hahaha You know you love him.. P.s he was telling us he doesn't have the net anymore haha

where is it going?

Back to Greece..

almost had me worried when i heard chris did a 1.07.... shit i better learn how to drive again

Haha.. Stop drinking so much then :)

Chubbs, yep finally got to a track day...

My pb was 1:23:** can't recall last two digits, but jono in my car did a 1:18:11. And that was towards end of day with tyres getting really slippery and car slightly unbalanced with no aftermarket rear sway bar only one on the front.

Going to get the car dyno'ed to see what power it actually has at the wheels but i was very impressed with it running stock boost and just standard mods.

Mel has all my sessions on tape,,,thanks to Duncan for teaching me how to burn discs,,,I'm hopeless on puters.

I haven't been to a Powerplay day yet that hasn't been well organized and a barrel of fun. Well done to everybody that helped on the day. I'm not going to name names cause I would forget someone which wouldn't be fair.

Some memoral moments included the z-tune spinning in front of me,,,maybe i shouldn't have pressured him so much.

Owning the R35 was just funny,,,the R35 was faster in a straight line than the z-tune though.

A great running battle with the Silvia all day,,,man that cars quick.

There was a beautiful black R33 GTR,,,forgotten his plate but he is mad fast in a straight line. Very very quick car.

But the best one was following Terry in the Gibson GTR in the arvo. We both have the same straight line speed and make no mistake I'm better under brakes and corner speed BUT following so close to such a great race car was the highlight of my day. Don't think for one second that he wasn't up it for the rent,,,we spoke afterwards and he said "no way was I letting you past". I had him lined up numerous times but

he knows how to shut doors.

Reminded me of pommy car show,,,"Small fry against the big dollar boys or something".

Richard,,,the cars done a 1.02 something there so if i can get just below that I would be happy. I was 3 tens off the previous owners lap record at O/P with speed in reserve when the control arm broke so come summer I think I can do it.

Fatz,,,I seem to remember you running slicks,,,so you were gayer first.

Love as always

Neil.

I was there. My car's front wheel bearing packed it in over the weekend, so I managed to finangle a drive in the girlfriend's MX-5.

f**k that thing needed new tyres. Every time I touched the throttle in the fish hook it wheelspun. With the way the car's set up it won't oversteer though, so I couldn't even enjoy it.

I could have knocked a good second off my time if I could have exited the corners without single peeling it.

Still, I had a great time. I've got some video from the cameras I brought, and when I do my write up for The Motor Report expect some good shots from the photographer I brought down.

All my good shots should be up in the gallery tomorrow... :)

Hi C!

Did PP get to use the mini HERO video cam at all that day?

If so, how well did it operate re:

i) clarity of picture &

ii) sound from the front bar???

Cheers,

Terry

Hey Terry,

I saw Jo sticking it on one of the cars but not sure if they took it out.

They are good little cameras for the price.

One of the guys had one at texi and it worked fairly well. You just need the light. I mean they aren't a proper video camera but they are a sturdy bracket..

He's also modified the bracket for inside the car to hold a normal camera so there are different options to the

spewing i missed out on this.... got the call fro Joanne and was busy on that day.....

And yes the Z-Tune is pure SEX!!!! ill take that thing over any other skyline any day!! gotta see it in the flesh.

    • They usually get made by hand as part of any such swap.
    • Was planning on getting an R35 MAF and the adapter, should this be okay? Also any idea where I could get my hands on an intake pipe?
    • I mean yes, if you're starting from scratch on an unknown engine yes you don't need to be doing all kinds of math in the background but if you're doing relatively minor changes like AFM + injectors + boost up with some aftermarket turbos it takes quite a bit of math if you want to do something like maintain OEM fuel + timing tables but compressed and then a bit more load scale up top. I think I've spent too much time working on big engineering nightmares though so I'm a big fan of trying to constrain the scope of whatever work I'm doing as much as possible and trying to get it right before moving on. For example, a local owner just did the usual E85 + single turbo conversion to his R32 GTR and nearly burned his car to the ground doing some spirited driving up the local mountains. Turbine is unshielded and too close to the hood insulation. It's tough to balance "just get the project done" and "seemingly small details can cause massive setbacks I'm not willing to deal with".
    • No idea about Neil's steering wheel, but I have the same behaviour in the Stagea. I doubt it has ever been messed with so might be normal. Indicating to turn right at a roundabout and correcting even a little bit to the left to go around will cancel the indicator. Never considered it an issue other than it being a bit odd.
    • Does anyone know if this is off centered? Looks like it, when I indicate to go right, but turn my steering wheel slightly left it cancels (was always like that even before I started messing around with it) was wondering if anyone else has the same issue?
