Jamie88
Hey guys I got a cometic mls 1.3mm headgasket that has been on my car for no more than 100km before I had an engine fire. I have purchased a new engine, will this headgasket be alright to fit to the new engine, along with the arp stud and nut kit that has done the same amount of km's?? VB-
as long as it wasnt damaged in the fire it should be fine. studs im not sure about, but i dont think they are those 'stretch' type so i would say that you can use them too. just ring up cometic and ARP, get a definitive answer from someone who'll know 100% Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/229239-cometic-multi-layer-steel-headgasket/#findComment-4030860 Share on other sites
PM-R33
New headgasket regardless how long its been on the car, once it has been torqued down onto the head, taking it off and trying to reuse it isnt a good idea, and for the cost of $300 or so to get a new one its a lot better than having to take the head off again a week later. VB-
i thought the idea of steel gaskets was that they were reuseable? Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/229239-cometic-multi-layer-steel-headgasket/#findComment-4033627 Share on other sites
