Yes according to workshops and as far as i know the user manual..i can check it later, i have a user manual sitting around sumwhere. Definetly 2.8l.

But yes, many people have found that you can easily put in a whole bottle(usually 3.7L) of oil without problems. Like me :) Nearly.

I will keep a close watch on the oil, as i should according to rb25's issues. Thanx.

Redline MTL was designed for the best syncro operation, so you might give that shot if thats your priority. Shookproof wasnt designed for this, but it seems to work quite well tho. I use Castrol Syntrans, it was notiably better than the stock fluid. Then I put a tube of Nulon G70 and that did stuff all.. I might change the whole lot out and put some MTL or Motul Gear 300 in when summer comes around!!!

gtracer, this is an old thread, check the date!!!

since i posted, it has been about 7 months, and in that time, i have done maybe 7 thousand kays, and have come to the conclusion that the redline ultra lightweight is an excellent gearbox oil, and suited to an rb25.

i have had no frothing/heat problems, and after a few kays (say 1500) the shift is a million times better than it was before, no crunching anymore, ever.

Oh yeah, and in those 7 months, i also lost my license :D

so my car is now for sale, complete with the redline gbox oil :)
