Clutch / Gearbox Problems - Please Help Me

Hey Guys,

Gotta problem. Car started makin this funny noise last nite, (Sorta like a cricket) Coming from under the Fuel Rail. It had me a little puzzled:uh-huh: But when I pushed the clutch in the sound kinda went away...... But after drivin it today it feels crappy to drive. Basically it feels like it is resonating a lot more through the drivetrain - and when I go to stop at the lights it shudders just b4 I come to a complete stop! Does anyone know what this could be?????

Its very possible that your input shaft bearing in your tranny is going bad. Just a little advise but lets not jump to the most expensive solutions first. Try checking other things first but keep this in mind.

What sorta problems will this cause and what would need replacing?

Its a rare thing and costs having a tranny shop pulling the bad one and pressing the new one in. You say the noise goes away when you put the clutch to the floor and that would mean the shaft is no longer spinning. Makes sense to me and my x girlfriend just had hers replaces and it had the same symptoms. Go to the tranny shop and just ask him to listen to the noise and see what he says.

the bearing isnt to cheep nor is the labor. Plus you have to think of what kind of condition your tranny is in cuz you might want to rebuild the sincros (expensive) while the tranny is apart in the shop.

I take that back. If you can afford a skyline you can afford a tranny rebuild. Im from the land of no skylines.

Yeah I have already received a quote $1500.00 Aus just to rebuild the Synchros. What u guys have no R33 Skylines In Cali??

no skylines at all. Just a few rb20/rb25det hybrids and Im so far the first godzilla 180 I have heard of in the US.

Hell Yeah,

Nice cars the Skylines. The 180 would still go nicely with the RB26. Power to Weight Ratios.... Are they gonna let the Skylines into the American Market any time soon?

they have talked about it but no action yet. I think its mostly from inflation over here and they would coast as much as porche which means only the rich f***s would have them. That would just piss me off cuz they can afford them but they can't drive them for s**t.

Expensive as a porsche - You could pick up a 33 over here for like - $10 - 12K US. Damn u guys must be spewing. Anyway thanks for ur help mate and good luck with the 180 - Sounds like a total sleeper

If you have clutch problems than get it checked out cause i thought i had clutch problems and it turned out to be a tail shaft being slightlly bent.....
