hey guys im in a little bit of strife as in what to use and i guess need some guidance from the more experience of you. i have a r33 gtr and i wish to start from scratch ie : new paint job interior and motor/driveline etcc.

it will be 99.9% for track but the odd occasion on the road.

with the engine so far i can only scrunch up the following

n1 block

hks stroker kit step 3

hks v cam system type 2

hks valve guides

hks springs

hks stem seals

q45 afms - going with afm as was told by tuner its eaier to tune with afm and the idle is smoother and more consistant readings ?

hks 1000cc injectors

hks 280l/hr fuel pump

not sure what to do with the oil circulation problem gtrs suffer from ? was told dry sump ?

not sure what computer

surge tank needed ?

would like to stay with twin setup turbos

os giken or ppg dog box

lsd to handle

suspension

drive shafts ?

clutch

main reason most things so far are jap is because i have been told to stick with them because they built and tested the cars and parts and that theyre the best at it.also been told not to mix and match to many brands.the budget is dependant on what i get as i have alot of spare equity i would like to use to reward myself for hard savings.

You should just talk to whoever is going the build the engine. They should be able to build you an engine capable of doing whatever it is you want it to do and at whatever power levels without you having to worry about things like this or whatever parts are used inside.

Searching and the RB26 Upgrade thread will help.

1000cc is insane injector size! and do they still make the v cam?

There is a whole thread dedicated to this, written by sydneykid i believe, just have a quick search (it may even be stickied).

not sure what computer

Depends on what your tuner is more experienced with and recommends.

Your more than likely going to be needing a serious fuel setup with the mods you have shown.

Can use anything from 2530s and GT-RS's etc, take a look at the M Speed GTR which uses low twins (even though they use modified Apexi turbos, which are now discontinued.

There are many quality parts elsewhere you can use, but if you have the money, go with what you want. There are many other companies or try and test there parts which have exceptional quality.

With the modifications you listed above, you are going to have one extremely extensive bill.

    • KYBs are typically twin tube, putting them in the lower tier of desireability. Do you just want to replace worn out ones for the lowest cost? I mean, you wouldn't just replace one end of a car, if the rears are a similar age to the fronts, then they are probably nowhere near what they should be, and likely won't be great against brand new fronts. So, to spend ~$800 on 2nd tier dampers, when you could get a decent set of MCA coilovers for <$4k.....? As to the strut tops. 1st up, the Sparesbox site specifically tells you that they are not correct for an R33. Beyond that, why do you think you need them?

    • Bringing an old thread back to life Looking to put some new front shocks in the r33Gtst and the KYB still look ok for a road car. Unless there are any other options aroind that price $200 a shock?  I’d like to replace the strut tops also, is this the correct KYB no. For the strut top, KSM7124?  https://www.sparesbox.com.au/products/kyb-strut-top-mount-ksm7124?srsltid=AfmBOoq-HDru8wSlLnQrhU9gCw_uYdKg8gUQzONY-EQOdnI5iXOWEUjY 341287 appears to be the front KYB shocks part no.  thanks all
