Need Help!

Hi all,

My r33 has been parked up since August last year. While it was parked up I replaced the power fc with a stock ecu along with a stocko afm.

Not sure if any of the above has to do with the problem but when every the car hits 4500rpmish it wont rev any further, and if it does it coughs and splats like my granddad.

We have tried a different ecu and afm with no fix.

I am 99.99999% sure its not coilpack/plug related as I have had problems with them in a previous r33.

Any help??

Have you swapped the plugs etc?

Given it a decent service like changing plugs, fuel filter etc etc?

gap the plugs to .8

how much boost is it running? if its over 13psi it could be hitting r&r

Plugs are gapped @ .6 and are fine.

Should of mentioned it does it when free reving (but no where near as bad) so cant be boost related.

It was at a mechanic friend of mine for a few days and he couldnt find whats wrong

Check that the VCT is still plugged in, and working.

Sounds like how the ECU goes when the VCT doesn't change over if not running 100%
