geez!

that was a stab in the dark!

well im looking at getting a system done on the r30

i was wondering why it has a cat? is this actually of an R30?

im trying to visualise how it all fits up

and im in canberra, can drive to syd, so if you know of anyone traveling south we may be able to arrange transport

i can use an aftermarket S13 system from the local importer, but thougth to see how this looks first... any pics of it installed

and have you got anything else R30 related for sale>>>???

maybe its an FJ/DR emissions thing?

the aussie L24e in the series 2 MR30 had steel 'pipes' in the exhaust ports that heated up and burnt un-spent fuel, so maybe that was enough for it to pass the gas testing, not needing a cat....

cats pretty much become useless after a few years anyway... feed em to the dogs eh!

you must run all original EPA gear on your car that was released with your engine. As far as I know all FJ20's had a cat, I definitely know the L20ET's did. So if it came out with a cat technically to get it engineered you need to have a cat.

Does anyone else maybe know? I am interested if they fit a coupe.

cheers

Can you:

get the exhaust,

wrap it in some packing tape to secure it together,

then wrap it in a few meters of clingwrap

Get the dimensions (length, width, height)

Get the weight

and pass these all onto me... (incl your postcode & suburb)

will be getting a quote from busfreight with this information

Then I will see how much they will charge to get it here!

If all else fails, I'll get my brother from carina to pick it up.

Have you got anything else M/D/HR30 related you loking at selling?

    • Brumbys with good shells are bloody expensive, I've looked at 2 "cheaper" cars, and walked away from both,  plus after some research spare parts are fairly sparce I'm starting to think that I missed the boat on finding a clean one that is straight (ish) and without alot rust I'm starting to think about a old Hilux as panels and other parts are much more available as they sold tens of thousands of them I use to be indecisive but now I'm not sure
    • A Brumby would probably fit a big metal toolbox in the back... this is how it begins
    • Picked up a new OEM boot seal for the MX5 today as the old one got ripped a bit by me being a idiot by seeing if I could fit a large metal tool box in it, it didn't fit, and ripped the seal with the corner of the tool box I am still waiting on time to get the cams and new balancer installed, as well as the repairs to the boot Time will not be an issue soon though
    • I was more thinking so it doesn't flop around as much rather than for rotating it. Once you have the balance right, it should rotate well enough, depending on how much resistance there is on the pivot. I think you said the pivot point was on a bearing though didn't you?
    • You can get them with the worm drive rotator but I was too tight to pay another $250-$300 so manual labour it is! I don't think it will be too hard to rotate though.
