Hey guys just thought id warn you of what happened earlier tonight, was coming home from mates work shop round the 8.20 mark turning off South rd onto Black rd (near the vic) and was doing the speed limit not driving like a dick or cutting anyone off and from behind had a XB/XC white ford ute come flying up my ass and began tailgating m. Nowwhen i say tailgating i mean i couldnt see his lights close! Checked my speed and was doin the right speed. Guy kept doint it and followed me along black rd once i turned down a back street n saw him keep goin i was like fark this booged it (yes i know for everyone goin to gimme flack for this naughty naughty) and he kept following i did some fairly dodgy manovers trying to get rid of this wanker headed back to blacks then over took cars left right n centre to loose him he did some deadly driving to keep up only got a slight look at him in my rear view when he was honking and flashing me. Beanie, Goatie. etc Didnt get plates and didnt get a better look. didnt pull over coz he couldve had a gun on him who knows. Reckon he was def on drugs. He gave up after a bit. Just thought id put the word out to warn others in this area the guy either has something against skylines, imports or all of the above. Just a warning to all. I didnt prevoke this either incase anyone is thinking that. Not gonna do nething to attract attention to my car so attracts dickheads n thieves. Just keep an eye out lads n ladettes!!!!

Prob go report it in morning to the local police but without plates not much good!

I've had a similar thing happen to me once, not far from that area, was just driving along, next thing ya know, couple of bogans in an old holden one toner yelling and swerving and chasing me.

Some people have serious problems :)

I had a similar thing heading in the opposite direction a couple years ago.

Pulling out of blacks/flaggy hill round about on to blacks road heading towards south road a bloke with his goatie and a beanie in a old HZ V8 manual Holden pulled right up my arse. I could not see his wipers. I gave it a little hit up to the speed limit only to have him fly up my arse again. I let him sit up my arse.

Turned left on to South road off blacks road gave it a little squirt. Pulled up at the next set of lights to have him pull up next to me starring over reving it.

Gave it a little hit to the speed limit. He kept holding it down flew past nailing it through the S-bends past looking extremely dodgy. I came around the bend to find a 4wd with a trailer pulled out in front of him. I measured he slid a good 100m and 'slightly' tapped a tree on the medium strip with a branch over his bonnet/windscreen. No real visible damage to the car but as I drove past to see what the commotion was he was absolutely freaking out so give him the big middle finger up. Sucks to be him. :)

Sounds quite similiar.. Goatie + beanie. Will have to keep an eye out. There's bugger all XB/XC white ford utes around.

Its not only just an issue with imports.. I think its an issue with performance cars.

Back in 99 I had a VS 5ltr 5speed lowered with mags sherbrook green looked sounded damn nice.

Driving along commercial road at Pt. Noarlunga I had some bogan and his mate pull up next to me in a red VN v6 for no reason and try swinging a mini base ball bat at the car. I didn't stick around obviously.

Was quite funny how I got rid of him. Accelerated up to 80km/h I let him over take to get up side by side. I slammed the brakes and ducked off right down the side street to see him overshoot and lock it up and throw a u-turn. Looped around back on to commercial and continued on my merry way as he went looking down the side streets for me.

ive had something simmilar happen to me.

driving home from work, peak hour traffic, heading down montigue road from grand junction rd. dont know if any1 drives this way during peak hour but its fecked, bumber to bumber going about 60kms.

this guy is on my arse, so close i can see his boogers hanging out his nose. obviously in a hurry to get home... HELLO! its the end of the day! well all are!

im like "stuff this" so i turn into mawson lakes, he follows, he was doing the "pull over and ill smash you" hand signal but i didnt, im a lover not a hater :)

after about 5minutes off this he pulls around me and tries to take me out! as soon as he pulled out i slowed down hardcore so it was a close encounter.

no beanie and no goatie tho... just pure bogan.

It didnt have blue cobra stripes on it did it? About 18 months ago a mate and I were in his mums corolla and a similar ute (except with cobra stripes) was doing the same we ended up pulling into a car park and losing him through there. That happened at MorphettVale near the coles.

grab a monkey wrench out form under your seat, slam on the brakes, jump out and beat the shit outta him, if he runs good, if he fights, you have a monkey wrench.

win win situation

but if he jumps out with a club lock then it's not so much a win/win situation!

Maybe check out this web-site you might find him on here. http://www.bogan.com.au/

Yeah I was driving down North East Rd about 3 years ago this guy got out of the car in front of me with a steering wheel lock and went to the car in front of him and smashed the guy in the face. I could see what was happening so I jumped out of my car and ran up behind him hit him in the face/back of the head several times, got him in a head lock and wrestled him to the ground. Unfortunatley the lad in the car infront of him had a broked Jaw, after several other people got out to help me hold this BOGAN down, the Police arrived about 2 mins later. It happened about 300m for the Holden Hill Police Station, nice thinking BOGAN.

Also they were trying to charge me with assault, how the hell does that work. They told me that I had used an etreme amount of force to force to restrian him, said he got of lucky, what did you want to do talk to him like Dr Phil!!!

Problem was the guy had several other assualt charges already he got off with a suspened sentence and the other young lad got some victims of crime compo, but he was in pain for several weeks.

MMM does the system work??

sorry to hear that you had to go through that bud. Down here in vic, there have been a few cases like that - seems like its becoming more and more like the U.S. Do we really need to arm ourselves with guns, knives, wrenches and all that crap?

Anyway - good thing that you werent hurt or anything. But yeah, next time, just drive to the local police station and park in front. Wait for the guy to drive off - but get a good look at the plates - and put in a complaint. I guess if many people put in a complaint, then they cops would have to do something about it.

some dude last year went spastic at a mate and i last year because he went to change lanes while we were next to me....

followed to seaford skatepark and blocked the car in by parking behind it. i didnt really care as it was just 2 bogan looking douches in a aero kitted vn POS.

he must of called a few mates over as 2 car loads of guys rocked up one came out with a baseball bat and faked to smash the window on my car to try and get a reaction to find the person who owned the car.

after about 45minutes to an hour i got fed up and it turned into about 9 against 2 (me and my mate being the 2)

went striaght up to the guy in the vn face to face and told him to get out of his car and give him something to complain about. he acted all tuff untill about 3 cars rocked up all with old school skateboarders init. like im talking about dole bludging permently drunk old schoolers.

ask my mate what was going on and he went nuts and said to the vn dude that noone messes with his skate crew (we didnt even know these guys)

they blocked his car in and went over to the vn guys mates cars and started smashing it with their skateboards. then went to the vn and said something to him which made him piss off real quick.

after the the old schoolers started doing reverse ringes in his colt and took off after them.

was one really messed up night and i didnt really know what to think of it :s

    • Given it is temporary, I bought a  cheapy gauge mount (which has become enflattened) which I will screw into the existing phone mount Also a first for me; given this is a temporary install I could not think of any reason not to use one of those "add a fuse" thingies to source the battery and IGN power. I had always figured they were pretty dodgy but having a good look at them I think they are a valid option for sourcing power from an existing source without cutting
    • Finally for now, a bit more work on the transmission temp gauge. I was wondering how Raceworks do a gauge for $100 that autometer want $500 for. No idea about the accuracy of course, but they have cut a few corners that made things hard.  First one I mentioned above, the sender is physically difficult to fit and doesn't work with their own adapters (the extra fittings I used to get the sender into a hose cost more than the whole gauge, lucky I had stuff in the shed) Second, the temp sender wires are way too short. They are shown as 2.7m on the box and I know my routing was long from navigator headlight to driver's firewall back to centre console, but I had to lengthen them by about 2m total - 2 joins in each wire. Also, same with the supplied power loom, they needed about an extra 1m to get the fuse box where I sourced power. Another join in each wire since one end wasn't supplied terminated. I know they could argue that the wires might be long enough depending on situation, but when you consider parts and particularly labour, it would be a very expensive cheap gauge if you can't do the work yourself. And, only a small issue....but it would have been nice if they remembered to tap a tread onto *both* spacers they supplied for the bracket....I haven't had to use the M4 tap often!
    • If it does get a turbo it would blow the JCW Mini out of the water considering how "close" some of the tests were. Then again the Mini would probably get one of them Stage 69 tunes.
    • Next up, the extinguisher is mounted but really only temporary because I ran into clearance problems (the bracket fit fine....until I put an extinguisher on it). It picks up the seat bolt mounts but has long bolts running through 20mm spacers for now Doing it properly requires a bit of quick welding but I ran out of time, this will do for the practice day
    • Family events weekend but a snuck a couple of things in. NSW state champs were down at Wakefield so I got Gordon Leven's to bring some A052s down in the right size for some spare rims I had that "fit" (actually ex-Leaf Nismo.Rays in 18x7.5). Tyres are 235/45/18 so they are narrower than stock (19x8.5s) but I need to keep road tyres on it for daily use for now. In a first, those weird size tyres had been in the yoko warehouse for so long (4.5 years apparently) that they offered 4 for the price of 2....so 4 practice tyres for about $1100. Bit of a bargain for sticker tyres, considering the real purpose of the practice day is mostly to see how the various temps go (and the weather is due to help, forecast 32o). In terms of race wheels, it looks like I should be able to fit 9.5 fronts and 10.5 rears but 18 vs 19 height will be based on what tyres I can get in the right size - good tyres are very limited in available widths in diameters above 17" so some planning is needed. Once I'm sure this car will work I'll order a set of custom BC wheels like I did for the R32, you can get exactly the right width and offset to make the most of the available space in the wheel well (the 32 has 295s all round on 18x10s and they are awesome) Incidentally A052 are asymmetrical but not directional which is good news for rally use if the front and rear wheel sizes are different because I can swap them side to side on the same axle. Directional tyres are a nightmare with staggered size wheels because each tyre is fixed on that corner unless you can get it rotated on the rim (not really practical mid rally in most cases)
