Hi guys,

I was driving the other day and mis judged the curb as i was turning into a street, scratched my back left wheel.

The scratch is not on the spoke but on the edge where the tyre meets the wheel. To describe it : Paper thin scuffed.

Where do i get things like this repaired? Some people say panel shops and others wheel shops?

I have the 18 inch factory wheels.

cheers

depending where u are, advance alloy repair is probably one of the best in melbourne area but the quote was like $350 a wheel due to the V35's factory chrome-like silver finish.

i can't justify repairing all 4 rims at the moment. so i haven't done it and can't tell what the result is

i have spoken to depulu in regards to the OEM V35 18" rim getting refurbished.. (i also have terrible gutter rash on mine)

as rianto said earlier, they are expensive to repair given they are finished in a "shadow chrome" colour and this is a difficult process to get right apparently

i was quoted 250 per wheel

i was quoted something like $250-$280/wheel a few months back by jax quickfit and they said it would be better off to have the 2 wheels (as in one whole side, front and rear left or front and rear right) re-sprayed together as it is apparently difficult to get a consistent shade with shadow chrome. you could end up having a slightly different shade on one wheel if you don't do it in pairs. not obvious up close but can be if looking from a distance - i've read this too in the g35 forum. a cheaper option would be to re-spray them into silver/alloy, about $140/wheel but i wasn't keen on doing it.
