Solenoid Mod Gone Wierd

hey all

i have a little issue (not complaining too much) but i done that little solenoid trick by earthing the black wire so get boost quicker. I done it and it went all the way to 7lb boost but when i really give it to it and when it gets to 7lb its like the car just shits itself and i have to let go of accellerator. Now from what i know im instantly assuming its because theres f*#k all air cos of the stock intercooler now im going to buy a hybrid intercooler on wednesday and install it and assuming that will allow the turbo to keep going with that much boost. But the thing that is really making me scratch my head is that i dont have that wire earthed to the solenoid anymore but still getting much higher boost. Thats the ecu true? I was thinking if i wanted to get rid of that i wud need to reset the ecu?

Oh and im in need of a new/used clutch pref 70% remaining on clutch if used. Standard clutch mainly wanted but if anyone has a decent priced aftermarket ill take that too
