EVOIV
Hello, Well it's time for another service for my EVO4 and I was wondering what brand/type (viscosity) of engine and gearbox oil do you use? I've used Mobil1, Shell Helix and the last engine oil I used was Motul. I know it's not too good to keep changing oils, so maybe I should stick to one? But which one? Also, what gearbox oil do you guys use? Cheers. Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/23000-engine-oil-and-gearbox-oil/ Share on other sites

Sumo
EVO: I would use whatever engine oil worked best for you, which ever kept your car quietest/smoothest. as for g/box oil, what weight does your manual recommend? rb25
i agree with Sumo, whatever works and feels best. I've tried a few oils and found the Motul turbolight 4100 to be good, others like Mobil 1. And I've tried redline gearbox oil and am not happy with it. Trying Castrol syntrax next time. benm
I only use Motul 4100/8100 for the engine and Redline for the Gearbox. The Redline gearbox oil will give u a massive noticable difference especially in 2nd and 4th gears.
