Sandown - Sun 31 Aug - Sau Vic Club C/ship - Rnd 6

Matt had a bit of an off and ended up driving home with a bit more toe out in the rear than he started with. Not much panel damage from what I was told as the rear suspension seemed to take the brunt of the hit.

I'm looking forward to PIARC on the 21st now, anyone else coming down?

What a bummer, with that sort of power in a RWD car it would have been tough trying to keep it on the black stuff.

Hope the damage wasn't too bad.

PIARC on the 21st is tempting, although it's bee a long time since I've been on the track, l think I may have forgotten how to drive fast. Plus I need a new set of tyres :)

first track day ive really been to and you skyline guys made the day! that silver micolour? r32 sounded awesome down the straight. i suppose that z1lla blokes car isnt half bad either :( after going in it on the way there and back, it makes my aristo feel like an XD falcon!

Thanks mr parts yes it the Micolour Car ,

Was a enjoyable day overall. I had a great time , set a new pb which is always good .

Mick also smashed his pb on at track that was still moist, and also on that lap as he crossed the line the tailshaft decided to shit itself , Blowing all 3 uni joint at just about the same time.

The car is a mess underneth. tore the centre bearing mounts out of the floor compleatly, squashed the exhust , Arm sized dents in the floor , destroyed the handbrake assem and made a decent amount of dints throughout the whole tunnel.

Although we can be thank full that the shaft didnt tear mick a new ass as it came close to pearcing the floor under the drivers seat.

2.5 weeks to Deca ................ So many long nights ahead , We JUST might squezze it in though .

Although we can be thank full that the shaft didnt tear mick a new ass as it came close to pearcing the floor under the drivers seat.

Thankful indeed, if that did happen... a 2nd bum hole to spill the shit out from wouldn't have been nice, once butt is enough lol

Glad your all safe though in all seriousness, ive seen pics of shafts doing some VERY nasty damage internally, not good at all.

From my car? I didn't know that mine did that lol

Did you hit the wall in one of those first sessions? I remember you started in front of me then when I got down to the back of the track and saw you facing me I thought "Please say it didn't hit the wall"

Shepo, Yep that was mine, thanks, lots of tough GT-Rs out there, was good to hear them fly down the straight.

Lol yes your car...our fastest times in the dry session were very close but in the wet you had it all over me as my semis had no groove left :P So much so the scrutineers weren't going to let me out there!

As for the wall...that be a negative and why I called it an 'inexpensive lesson' in my first post. She stepped sideways on the exit of the sweeper off the back straight and in the process of trying to correct that AND turn in for the kink meant I ended up heading through the kink backwards....I saw the wall coming as I hit the grass so gave the wheel a little turn and ended up parallel parking against the armco with about 1/2 a metre to spare

I'm waiting for the pics as the photographer was right there....

Good to hear it didn't make contact, it looked real close when I went through and I didn't get a chance to have a look in the pits.

I think the Toyo RA1's I have on my car work pretty well in the wet due to their tread design, I noticed someone was taking pics and had www.vicstreetscene.com on the back of their vest, I had a look at the website but couldn't see any pics from the day yet. Hopefully some will turn up.

Nice footage Andrew, pretty impressive for a little camera.

Yeah, YouTube drops a lot of the quality out, as the raw footage is quite a lot better. Not a bad jigger for $260.

There is a Tampered Motorsport Track Day up at Winton on the 28th

If you want to get in on that I'd suggest being quick, I got an e-mail from Adam a couple of days ago, it's just about full up.

I had a great day apart from being outright slowest round the track. shows how much breaks and tyres can do.

i did a 1.42 on the one dry lap... very very slow but thats cause i didnt wanna right my car off i was just cruising upto corners and still getting compresion lock ups sideways into the s bend at the back of the track i lost it twice round there but no damage done.

i had fun i got some crazy footage of the last corner onto the straight of everyone the gtr's are mad round the corners my car was sideways constantly and all the gtr's glide through with ease.. i will post soon as i have it all

i need some tips for new mods just to compete with you guys. Breaks? suspension? tryes?

i even think my turbo is too big i had trouble keeping it on boost coming out of corners too... with the rb20 i wanna make round the 240-260kw mark but i wanna come on full boost at round 3500 4000 is this possible? mine kicks at like 5000 too late you reckon?
