Changing Name On A Title In Vic?

Someone might be able to help me with this one...

Has anyone had to change a name on a title (land) before? Who or what do you have to do or contact?

Also what sort of costs are involved?

Would it be a lawyer and if so would any lawyer be able to do it?

generally done by a solicitor

i think its based on the consideration (how much your charging the transferee) but if the consideration is natural love and affection then its free

Thanks Sarah... nah when they originally transfered the title of the house they didnt put my full name on it which means now that im refinancing they cant do shite until it has my full name so i just need it changed. So i dont think i would need to pay stamp duty again on my own house unless you have to when you refinance... altho thats a little stupid. Why pay it again when i havent sold it to myself.

id call the titles office, tell them your situation and that they're shit! and see what they say is the best way to fix it
